January 13 20142014-01-13A photo inside a temple-like hall with red-framed grilles. A seated man in a maroon shawl and a marigold garland, with a light forehead mark and long swept-back hair, leans forward to drape or hold an orange cloth over the head of a bent-over devotee in a striped purple sweater and light peach kurta. A bald man in orange robes stands behind them watching, and more saffron-clad people sit or stand at right. A silver-ornate throne or chair is at left and red carpet covers the floor. a person is the seated figure, identified by his long swept-back hair, marigold garland and maroon robe; he is the presiding figure and the devotee is receiving a blessing.2014-01-13A photograph of a seated devotional gathering on a patterned floor mat in a pink-walled hall with barred windows. A long-haired figure in a rust-orange sari with a gold-and-bead necklace sits cross-legged with palms pressed together while a standing man in saffron robes bends forward toward them. Other seated sadhus in orange and saffron, one with a shaved head and wire spectacles, one with yellow tilak and rudraksha beads, watch nearby. The atmosphere is a formal sannyasi greeting or blessing.2016-04-21A photograph of a seated woman in a deep orange-red sari-style wrap with a marigold garland and a gold-bordered hem, extending a hand to touch the forehead of a shaved-headed young man in orange robes kneeling before her with hands clasped at his face. She holds a silver staff-like ritual rod in her other hand and a silver tray with a green leaf offering. Behind them stands a smiling shaved-headed monk in orange robes and, at right, another shaved-headed man in orange with a rudraksha mala. Red-painted lattice and carved wooden panels form the background.2014-01-13October 19 20132013-10-19February 12 20132013-02-12September 30 20082008-09-30A photograph in an interior room with a ceramic-tile ceiling and recessed lighting. On the right, a bare-chested man with long dark hair tied in a bun, wearing a rudraksha mala and ornate maroon-and-gold cloth, sits on a red-cushioned seat with a golden lion-head armrest, holding out an orange cloth. Before him stands an older man in a pink turban and orange garment with an orange shawl, extending his hands toward the seated man. Behind them, a younger man with a shaved head and white tilak and a brown-and-orange robe looks on. A framed portrait of a smiling figure in an orange turban hangs on the wall behind.2014-03-06A seated man in a maroon-and-gold robe with a red turban, rudraksha malas and gold earrings reaches out to bless a devotee in a bright orange robe who bows low and covers his head with an orange shawl. A gilded ornate throne with red upholstery sits behind the seated figure, and a large portrait with a red turban is mounted on the wall. Another orange-robed person with rudraksha beads is partly visible at left, and a fire-pit or ritual setting with offerings is visible at lower centre. The seated figure appears to be the probable Swamiji (appearance cues: red turban, rudraksha malas, maroon-and-gold robe, seated on a gilded throne) giving blessings.2014-03-16January 13 20142014-01-13A photo of an outdoor temple setting where a man seated on a leopard-patterned mat wears a maroon robe, a red-and-white flower garland and a rudraksha mala, smiling as a devotee in red and orange robes bows low and another man in an orange shawl presses a hand to his chest. The seated man is a plausible in-person candidate given his swept hair, ornate beaded necklace and ceremonial garland, though this is an appearance-based label only; the bowing devotee, standing monks in orange and maroon, and a hooded person in an olive jacket are also present. Behind them are a silver-clad altar with lion reliefs, a stone lion statue, orange and red cloth, and a small crowd of onlookers.2014-01-22 +1 copiesFebruary 09 20132013-02-09
