Three men in ceremonial reddish-brown dhoti-style garments with striped borders stand at its base, one holding a rope and reaching up toward the pole, and another steadying it with a raised arm. The pole is wrapped with green leaves and a white flower garland with yellow blossoms near its base. A corrugated metal canopy with lights and a scaffolding frame runs along the right side. A faint archive copyright credit appears in the lower right corner.2016-03-01 +1 copiesA photograph of an outdoor ritual at a temple-like site under a grey sky, with coconut palms behind. A shaved-headed man in orange robes stands on a raised orange platform and holds a small cloth-covered offering near a tall copper kalasha-style pillar wrapped with marigold garlands and a red thread. A second orange-robed figure stands beside him. At the lower right, a man in a white dhoti with a red border watches, and a few other people are partially visible at the edge. Carved stone sculptures and a painted panel are visible at the left. The scene suggests a puja at a pillar or flagpole.2010-11-06A photograph taken from a low angle of a tall ornate copper-coloured ritual pillar with carved panels and a decorative base, set outdoors under a partly cloudy sky with palm trees behind. Two people in saffron-orange robes stand at the pillar: a figure in the centre with head covered by an orange cloth is wrapped in a long orange rope or cord, and a second person on the right in orange robes holds a shallow metal plate and reaches toward the pillar. A stone figure is faintly visible at the lower left.2010-10-18 +1 copiesDecember 23 20082008-12-23 +1 copiesOutdoors under a bright sky beside tall coconut palms, two men in saffron-orange robes stand at the base of an ornate copper-coloured dhwaja (flagstaff) with carved panels and a wrapped orange rope hanging from its top. The man on the left, bare-footed and wearing a red-orange garment with a beaded mala, rests one hand on the pillar. The shaved-headed man on the right, in orange robes, holds a large gold plate or tray toward the base of the staff.2010-10-18 +1 copiesOutdoor ritual photograph at a temple courtyard under bright sky with palm trees. Two bare-chested men in rust-red and saffron-banded dhoti wraps stand on a red-painted platform, reaching up to a tall copper-toned kalasha pot wrapped with white and red flower garlands and green leaves; one lifts a bundle of leaves at its top. A row of standing devotees in orange and saffron clothing, some holding ceremonial staffs, watches from the right beneath a metal-roofed pavilion. A large orange and blue umbrella appears at the far left edge.2014-08-20 +1 copiesOctober 18 20102010-10-18 +1 copies
