November 08 20112011-11-08November 08 20112011-11-08A large seated statue of a deity with a reddish-brown body and blue-grey face, wearing a tall cylindrical crown and ornate engraved jewellery and belt. The four arms hold a conch-like shell, a trident-shaped staff, a rod and a lotus-like object, and the figure sits on an intricately carved pedestal among green foliage outdoors. The statue is a sculpture, not a living person, so no physical people are visible. The deity form is not clearly identifiable from iconography alone, so it is described as a deity murti.2011-11-08Close photograph of a dark blue-grey stone statue of a deity with a tall ornate crown and a long trident-like weapon held upright in one hand, its body covered in intricately carved reddish-brown metal or stone ornaments, arm bangles and a chest plate.
