A woman in a floral kurta and white trousers sits cross-legged facing him, and a second woman in a green patterned top and purple skirt wearing a face mask sits to the right. Brass oil lamps stand on the mat, and a flat-screen TV on a cabinet shows video participants. On the altar at right, a large framed portrait shows a seated figure in red with a garland and hands raised, flanked by a golden throne-like frame, and a small deity murti in a glass case sits on the left altar with framed pictures and a green-clad image beside it.

A group of devotees sit cross-legged on colourful striped woven mats during a Varalakshmi Vratham puja in a room with yellow walls. A standing man in a maroon-and-pink checked shirt and white dhoti stands at the top, palms pressed together. Seated devotees include women in white, blue, lavender and green saris and tops, many with eyes closed and hands folded. Before them are brass and silver plates heaped with marigold garlands, red and pink flowers, fruit, sweets and lit oil lamps. A deity murti with a crown and garlands sits on an orange-draped altar, and a wall-mounted TV and a laptop screen show a live online feed of other participants.
