A photograph of a shrine at an outdoor temple setting with carved grey stone pillars and a tiled roof. Five young men in saffron-orange dhotis with bare upper bodies, some with long dreadlocked hair, stand in a row with arms raised in devotion, several wearing white sacred threads and white markings on their chests and arms. Inside the shrine, a deity murti with gold crown and ornaments is adorned with garlands, beaded necklaces and a golden ceremonial backdrop, with brass oil lamps set on the stone ledge and offering baskets with flowers nearby. Petals are scattered in the air near the shrine. A saffron-draped ornate chariot or structure appears at the left edge.2015-05-13A photograph inside a shrine niche decorated with garlands of white and pink flowers. Three deity murtis stand behind a yellow-draped platform, a central figure in white dhoti with a tall crown and two flanking figures in red and gold garments with heavy beaded necklaces. In the foreground, a seated woman in a red sari with gold border and a gold necklace holds a small pink floral offering. At the lower right, a young man with a shaved head in an orange robe holds a brass plate of offerings toward a garlanded kalasha or sacred vessel. Brass oil lamps stand at the side.2014-06-29 +1 copiesJuly 09 20172017-07-09May 13 20152015-05-13January 09 20182018-01-09May 13 20152015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13January 04 20152015-01-04Five young sannyasi-style devotees in saffron-orange dhotis stand bare-chested at a stone shrine, several with long dreadlocked hair and white body markings, holding up hands and offerings toward a deity murti. The murti is adorned with gold crowns, flower garlands, and a large beaded necklace. Brass oil lamps stand on the stone platform, and a plate of red flowers sits at the front. Carved stone pillars and a gold-framed arch surround the shrine, and a drummer is partly visible at left. The scene is a temple puja or abhishekam.2015-05-13Inside a gilded temple sanctum, priests in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls stand before a decorated deity murti. Several long-haired priests with ash markings on their bodies attend the murti, one holding a silver ceremonial staff and another holding a ritual vessel. The gold-embossed walls and carved pillars frame the scene, with a golden figure of a deity standing at the right edge. The setting suggests a pattabhishekam or puja in progress.2017-05-05May 05 20172017-05-05A temple-style ritual in an indoor hall with dark curtains.
