Most wear white dhotis and white saris, with yellow borders on several and orange or red shawls and saris on others. Several shaved-headed men in white and red-orange cloths stand near the front; a woman in a white sari with a yellow border holds her hands folded at the centre. A woman on the left holds a bright green umbrella and sits in prayer. Brass kalashas stand on the steps at the right edge, and white bags and bundles rest on the stairs. The setting suggests a riverside ritual gathering, with many participants visible.2010-10-22 +1 copiesA photo of a group ascending stone steps toward a sandy riverbank. In the foreground, a figure seen from behind wears a bright orange-red turban decorated with white flowers, a marigold garland around the neck, and a saffron-orange shawl over bare shoulders. Around them, many devotees in saffron and red shawls, white dhotis and kurtas, and white-and-green lanyard badges climb the steps. Several men have orange tilak marks on their foreheads, and some wear rudraksha malas. A small figure in white and red stands far to the right on a raised platform. The bright sand and sunlight fill the background.2015-10-03September 17 20152015-09-17July 03 20082008-07-03Photograph of a crowded riverside ghat with stone steps where many devotees sit and stand in an outdoor ritual gathering.
