A woman in a saffron-orange robe with red border, hair pulled back, holds a red cloth and reaches toward a bald man in orange dhoti and shawl wearing a long rudraksha mala and white vibhuti tripundra marks. Nearby, a woman in a white blouse and red shawl holds her hands together in namaste, and a woman in orange with rudraksha mala holds a brass pot. Other devotees with folded hands stand around, and a golden kalasha-style vessel is visible at lower centre.2015-07-07Night-time photo of a street crowd where an older man in a white shirt and white dhoti drapes a large garland of red and white flowers with green leaves over the shoulders of a dark-haired man in a saffron-orange garment with a rudraksha mala. Beside him, a shaved-headed man in orange robes with a white tilak on his forehead and a mala around his neck looks on. Bystanders in white and orange crowd close, and a red-painted building with a barred window and a string of lights stand behind. Garlanding is an honour gesture in a procession-style welcome. The garlanded man is a candidate for a person by appearance, with saffron clothing and a mala, but the face and shoulders are partly hidden by the garland and crowd, so identity is uncertain.2014-07-04Night-time temple ritual photograph. A man with long dark hair and a bare chest, wearing a red-orange dhoti with heavy gold waist belt and gold necklace and armlets, lifts a long garland of yellow and white flowers with red ribbon-like bands above a brass tray. To the left, a foreground devotee in the foreground holds palms together in namaskar, and a seated person in white with a tilak and gold necklace kneels behind a bundle of leaves. Another figure in red-orange clothing stands in the background, and a partially visible man in the far left foreground is bare-shouldered.2017-09-21July 03 20142014-07-03Night-time photograph of a street procession in Tamil Nadu. A smiling man in a rust-red saffron-toned robe wears a long necklace of rudraksha-style beads and a sacred mark on his forehead, while a shaved-headed attendant in orange stands at the left edge. A smiling woman in a white sari with a gold border holds a brass vessel topped with white jasmine flowers, a marigold-style garland and red blossoms, and women in purple and white saris press their palms together behind her. A camera operator and a small child in a striped shirt stand nearby, with houses and a red vehicle visible in the dark background. The scene reads as a welcome ritual with an offering vessel.2014-07-04July 04 20142014-07-04Night-time outdoor photo at a temple-like complex with a tiled roof and lit lamps. In the centre, a man with short dark hair and a white forehead mark wears a long rust-red shawl with a gold border and a brown beaded garland, and holds out his hands over a brass pot with a yellow-green coconut-like top and pink flowers. To the left, an elder in saffron-orange robes with a shaved head and white markings walks beside a man in white dhoti with gold border and rudraksha beads. Behind them, devotees in maroon and red garments with white forehead marks and beaded necklaces watch.2013-11-21
