December 05 20112011-12-05A close overhead photograph of a grey, weathered stone or clay vessel resting on a sandy stone surface. The rounded bowl-shaped object has a flat top carved with an eight-petalled lotus rosette around a central circle, and its sides are incised with radiating vertical grooves and short tick-marked lines. Strong sunlight casts shadows across the surface. No people are visible.2014-09-08Close-up photograph of a carved sandstone surface with raised scrolling foliate and vine-like relief motifs, curling leaves and rounded bead-like lobes along a band. The stone is pale grey-beige with granular texture and shallow shadows in the carved grooves. Upper right shows a dark background and a faint reddish patch on the stone edge. No people are visible; the image shows architectural ornament.2010-01-07February 08 20122012-02-08Making Of Sacred Arts UniversityClose-up photograph of rough-hewn granite blocks lying on the ground, with carved interlocking joints and a notched cut visible on the stone surface. Thin green grass blades overlap the lower left corner. The stones appear to be temple construction pillars or blocks being shaped, with no people visible in the frame. A small purple bird logo sits in the upper left corner.2011-12-05Close-up photograph of rough-cut granite stone blocks lying in a row, with carved curved recesses and chiselled edges, apparently stone pillar elements being worked for temple construction. Warm sunlit grey-beige stone surfaces fill the frame; no people, deities or ritual activity are visible.2011-12-05Close photograph of a carved granite lintel or panel with a band of interlocking scrolling floral and spiral motifs, painted in red-orange ochre against a pale grey stone surface. Three large spirals dominate the centre and sides, connected by curling tendrils and smaller volutes. The stone is weathered with visible grain. At the bottom edge, blurred red and white cloth and a glimpse of a street or temple corridor are visible. No people are visible.2006-09-23A weathered stone lingam or yoni-shaped carved stone sits on a worn, dirt-covered floor beside a stone wall, surrounded by dry brown leaves and dark crevices. Dim light reveals pitted, lichen-spotted stone. At lower left, the blurred edge of a person's head or hair and a red-rimmed object are visible. No people are clearly in focus; the scene appears to be an archaeological temple ruin with a shrine stone.2014-12-15A photograph of a broken, weathered pale stone sculpture lying on sandy, gravelly ground at night. The figure is a reclining or fragmented carved form with a plain grooved base, partly covered by chips and debris. A large red-orange vessel or bowl sits in the lower right foreground, and scattered trash and pieces of stone surround the sculpture. No people are visible; the scene shows only the stone figure, the ground and the red container.2009-07-01January 07 20102010-01-07Blurred, motion-smeared photograph of a sandstone relief wall at Angkor Wat, Cambodia. Warm ochre stone shows carved horizontal bands with figures in low relief, including reclining or dancing sculpted forms and decorative friezes. No living people are visible. The image is a stone carving, not a person or ceremony.2007-07-02
