A man in a saffron-orange turban, orange shawl, brown-orange robe and a long gold-beaded necklace stands at centre, pointing upward with his right hand and holding his left hand near his waist. Swamiji (probable): long-form saffron robes, turban and ornate gold necklace, speaking and gesturing. Beside him, a bald, bare-chested older priest with a white forehead mark and gold chain speaks, and a bare-chested man with a dark rudraksha mala and white marks stands at left. Behind them devotees in white shirts and saffron-clad sannyasis fill the room. Thatched and wooden decor is visible at upper right.2013-02-11February 11 20132013-02-11A photograph of a crowded sadhu gathering at an outdoor Kumbh Mela setting with a dark backdrop and warm lighting. A bald man with glasses and a rudraksha mala, wearing a rust-red dhoti with gold border, leans in holding a black microphone toward a man in an orange-red turban, gold-bordered rust-red dhoti, and a large gold pendant on a beaded necklace who points forward. Other saffron-clad sadhus and devotees stand behind, with a decorated altar and flags at upper right.2015-09-14Evening photograph in a crowded temple setting with warm golden lighting. In the centre, a man in an orange turban, orange shawl and layered gold necklace holds a silver tray with a small object on it, while speaking. To his left, a bare-chested, shaved-headed priest with white and red tilak and gold beaded necklace walks ahead. To the right, a shaved-headed man in orange-brown robes and a rudraksha mala holds the other side of the tray. Behind them, devotees and onlookers press close, and hanging gold and green decorations, bells and lamps are visible. Whether the central figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance alone, so the central man is described by role.2013-02-11February 12 20132013-02-12May 08 20162016-05-08May 11 20162016-05-11 +1 copiesA photograph of saffron-robed sadhus gathered under an orange tent canopy. In the foreground a bald man in an orange shawl with a yellow tilak on his forehead faces a figure in a maroon turban with a golden ornament, wearing a dark maroon robe, a heavy gold multi-strand necklace with a large pendant, gold bangles and rings, and smiling. Behind them a bearded man with a white beard and a sadhu with matted hair and yellow tilak stand among others, one holding an offering. A young man in a pink shirt stands at left. The maroon-turbaned figure has distinctive long gold necklace and turban cues, so the appearance is a person candidate in conversation with devotees; the scene shows exchange and blessing among sadhus at a camp.2016-05-11Night photo at a religious gathering. A bald man in an orange-saffron robe bends forward with palms pressed together, offering respect to a smiling man in a deep maroon turban and maroon-and-gold dress with layered gold and beaded necklaces, bangles and palms joined in anjali. A young man in white with a tilak stands at left; saffron-robed attendants and onlookers surround them in front of an ornate silver and gold shrine canopy with garlands. Swamiji (probable): the smiling man in the maroon turban and gold-layered necklaces receiving the greeting, shown in an honoured position at the centre.2015-09-14A photograph of a festive crowd of saffron-robed sadhus at a Kumbh Mela camp. In the centre, a smiling man wears an orange-red turban with a small red tilak on his forehead, a rudraksha-style beaded mala and a gold chain, and a saffron shawl; he presses his palms together in greeting. Left, an older bearded man with white beard, glasses and orange tilak also presses palms in namaste. Right foreground, a bald man with rudraksha malas accepts an offering or hand gesture. Behind them, cameras and more orange-clad devotees fill a red-draped tent. The central figure shows distinctive ceremonial adornments and a turban, so this is a person candidate, though the appearance is uncertain from this angle.2016-05-05
