Night outdoor event with a seated man on a cushioned throne-like chair, wearing an orange-red saffron robe, gold-and-orange beaded necklaces, and a white forehead band, smiling toward the right. Beside him is a gold ceremonial object and an orange hand towel, with a video camera on a tripod nearby. Around him, several men in saffron robes with gold beaded malas and white forehead markings stand, while a bald man in white kneels with his hands pressed together in prayer near the bottom left. Behind them are floral garlands in yellow, red and pink and dim string lights. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure has long swept-back hair and saffron clothing with ornate gold beads, consistent with the page's identification, though the appearance is only moderately distinctive.2013-03-10Night photo of a Hindu ceremony. A bare-chested man with long swept-back dark hair, a white forehead mark, saffron-orange cloth and multiple beaded rudraksha-style necklaces smiles while seated on a cream upholstered throne, one arm extended toward a gilded lion-like figure in the foreground. Around him, saffron-robed men with shaved heads and white forehead markings stand or kneel. On the left, a man in a white shirt presses his palms together in añjali. Behind them, a camera on a tripod, colourful floral garlands and string lights are visible.2013-03-10Photo of a festive stage event. A long-haired person in saffron-orange robes with a white-and-red floral garland sits on an ornate throne with a carved white lion-like base, smiling and gesturing with one hand, with a microphone on a stand at the right. Surrounding the throne are heavy garlands of white, yellow, orange and red flowers. In the foreground, a man in a white shirt bends forward toward the seated figure, while a man in white with a yellow shawl and other attendants in white stand behind. Dark blurred silhouettes fill the lower left foreground.2007-07-29Night outdoor gathering with stage lights and orange flags in the background. On the right, a long-haired man in an orange turban and orange sleeveless robe with a rudraksha mala sits on a raised seat, smiling and extending his hand toward devotees. Swamiji (probable): long hair, orange turban and robe, and a rudraksha mala are the cues. Nearby, a man in white with a red shawl and rudraksha mala leans forward, and women in orange, yellow and white saris kneel with palms pressed together. Behind them, a shaved-headed man in orange with a gold-toned necklace stands at the top right. Fruit sits on a white table in the lower right. A large crowd of people in white fills the background, with uniformed police visible.2010-01-09July 17 20082008-07-17November 22 20102010-11-22January 08 20122012-01-08A seated figure with long swept-back dark hair, a white forehead band, an orange-saffron wrap and a long orange-beaded rudraksha mala with gold ornaments reaches out to bless a young woman kneeling on a red carpet at a ceremony at night. She has her palms pressed together and eyes closed, wearing a white top. He holds a strand of orange beads over her head. Around them stand devotees in white and saffron clothes, some with white forehead markings and mala beads, and a woman in a red sari with a white-clad companion. Behind them hangs a backdrop of colourful flower garlands, and in the foreground is a gold-finished decorative lion-head ornament on the throne area. Visible details suggest a blessing (darshan) in an outdoor evening setting.2013-03-10July 29 20072007-07-29A photograph of a seated figure on a red-cushioned golden throne with a gilded lion-head armrest, wearing a saffron-red wrap, ornate gold necklaces and a rudraksha-style neck garland, with long swept-back hair. He extends his hand to receive fruit, apples and oranges offered on trays by devotees kneeling at his feet. Devotees in white and cream clothing, some with sandalwood or vibhuti marks, crowd the floor, and a video camera on a tripod stands in the background beside white drapes and gold decorations. Swamiji (probable): the saffron wrap, swept-back long hair, gold necklaces and rudraksha-style garland match the cues for the Swamiji candidate, seated and receiving offerings in a fruit-offering ritual setting.2016-01-03March 10 20132013-03-10July 02 20152015-07-02
