2004 - sacred collections uncategorisedA man in an orange saffron shawl with a rudraksha mala around his neck places his right palm on the forehead of a man in a white shirt and white dhoti. The orange-clad man has hair tied back in a bun and a red-tinted tilak on his forehead, appearing to give a blessing. The white-clad man has his hand raised in a gesture of receiving it. Behind them are wooden shelves with a brass lamp and a plant against a pale wall, with a dark red curtain at left. A woman is partly visible at the far right edge.2011-11-26A photograph of a seated man in saffron-orange robes with long swept-back dark hair, bare-chested with a wrap, wearing a long rudraksha-style mala and gold ornaments, reaching both hands to press on the head of an older bald-to-grey-haired man in a white shirt who bows forward with eyes closed. Behind them a camera on a tripod records the scene, a brass oil lamp with a flame stands at right, a white fan sits at left, and a standing crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis watches from the left background.2010-11-25A photograph of a ritual blessing at an indoor ashram hall with a white canopy and orange-and-gold banners overhead. A long-haired man in a sleeveless saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala draped across his chest places his right palm on the head of a short-haired devotee in a white shirt, while holding a paper in his left hand. Nearby, a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti with a red tilak and gold chain watches, and a wooden tray holds apples and a brass plate. Several devotees with folded hands stand around, including a grey-bearded man in white with a yellow shawl, and a silver plate sits in the foreground.2010-10-16 +1 copiesA photograph inside a plain white-walled room with a grey tiled floor and a window at upper left. A long-haired man in an orange sleeveless robe with a red and white flower garland sits cross-legged at left, holding out a small brass plate with a white cloth, a string of rudraksha beads and a gold-toned ornament. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands behind the plate, with a rudraksha mala around his neck, bending forward. A young man in a white shirt and grey trousers kneels at right with hands pressed together in prayer near his face. At upper right, a woman in a white and gold-bordered sari stands with her palms joined. The seated man in orange matches the Swamiji (probable) appearance cues of long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and a garland, presenting the plate in a blessing role. A striped red and green mat lies on the floor.2009-01-25December 18 20112011-12-18March 23 20082008-03-23A photograph of a monastic figure in an orange-saffron shawl and shorts-length orange garment, with long dark hair swept back, pressing both hands to the forehead and temples of a man in a white short-sleeved shirt with a small pattern and a wristwatch. The bystanders include two women in white and blue saree-style clothing at left and a woman in a white top at right. The setting is an indoor hall with a corrugated or thatched ceiling, fluorescent lights, a fan, and a speaker on a stand. The orange-clad figure's appearance matches the page's a person reference only loosely, so the identity is left unsure and the figure is described by role as a sannyasi giving a blessing.2009-12-13A photograph inside a pandal with white fabric canopy and orange-and-white decorative hangings. A man with long swept-back black hair and a red tilak wears an orange sleeveless garment with a long rudraksha mala and raises his right hand in blessing while holding a folded white paper. Beside him a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti holds a wooden tray with apples and brass items, and a silver plate with gold-coloured offerings sits in the foreground. An older man with grey hair and a yellow shawl stands with folded hands, and a young man in white shirt stands at left. The setting suggests a satsang or darshan with ritual offerings.2010-10-16 +1 copiesOctober 17 20072007-10-17July 20 20112011-07-20July 04 20132013-07-04
