Kailasa Kanchipuram 27th december 2021A small shrine room with pink walls where a young priest in white dhoti with gold border, bare-chested with white sacred markings on his arms and rudraksha malas around his neck, pours liquid from a brass vessel over three small brass deity murtis on a yellow-gold tray set on a green table, a puja or abhishekam. Yellow flowers are scattered on the tray and in metal bowls at the bottom. Behind the table is a large printed poster of a smiling figure in an orange turban, saffron garments and ornate gold and beaded necklaces, labelled as a depiction, alongside framed deity pictures and a standing statue holding a trident-like staff with rudraksha malas. Framed pictures of deities and a man in a white shirt hang on the walls.2021-12-26Kailasa Kanchipuram 27th december 2021A young man in a white dhoti with a gold-bordered cloth, bare-chested with white sacred markings on his arms and shoulder, and a long rudraksha mala hanging over his shoulder, pours liquid from a brass vessel over three small gold-coloured metal murtis on a green-legged table covered with a gold tray and scattered yellow flowers. The murtis appear to be a deity with consorts, placed in a small shrine room with framed religious prints on the walls and a seated statue draped with garlands and beads in the background. Yellow flower petals lie on the tray and in metal bowls at the edges of the frame. The scene suggests a daily puja or abhishekam at a small shrine.2021-12-26KAILASA DHUMBARAI, NEPAL on 5/24/20212021-05-24Photograph of a small home shrine in a pink-walled room. Below, a flame burns over three copper-toned deity murtis on a brass tray on a green-legged table, with a hand holding a lamp or camphor flame at left. A standing statue with a long dark braid, rudraksha mala and staff stands at right, and a steel vessel holds yellow liquid at lower right. Photos and small deity images line the shelves. One physical person is visible at the edges, only a hand and foot shown.KAILASA DHUMBARAI, NEPAL on 5/24/20212021-05-24A hand pours milk from a golden vessel over small gold-toned bronze deity murtis standing on a tray with yellow and white liquid, petals and a black shivalinga.
