Outdoor courtyard of a temple-style ashram with a crenellated stone wall and arched doorways behind a large tree. A devotee in a long-haired, saffron-clad sannyasi look with a white garland and a tilak stands at right with palms joined, while an older man in an orange robe and orange-saffron dhoti with raised joined hands faces him. Around them, a crowd of men and women in white dhotis and mundus with orange shawls stand barefoot on a marble floor, many with hands folded in namaskar. A small blue-legged table with a brass vessel sits at right. The cloth canopy at upper right and a metal light fixture are visible.2008-08-03A photograph taken at an open-sided ashram entrance under a corrugated metal roof, with palm trees and a white latticed screen on the right. A tall man with long swept-back dark hair, bare-armed, wears a saffron-orange wrap and a long rudraksha mala, walking barefoot across a green mat toward the viewer. Beside him a shaved-headed monk in orange robes holds a folded white paper. Behind them a line of women in white and cream saris and salwar-kameez stands with palms pressed together in anjali, one small girl in a turquoise outfit among them. Further back, other white-clad devotees and orange-robed attendants move about a courtyard with stone statues and a red-and-yellow poster of deities on a wall. Swamiji (probable) is the tall man with long hair, saffron wrap and rudraksha mala, shown in person; this is a pada puja-style reception with devotees offering reverence.2010-09-14October 03 20152015-10-03October 31 20102010-10-31 +1 copiesOutdoor photo on a sunlit dirt path beside an orange-walled two-storey building under tall palms and leafy trees. A man in the centre wears a red-orange dhoti and shawl with a large gold necklace and rudraksha mala, and his long dark hair is swept back, with a tall red-orange headwrap nearby. Several others wear saffron and orange robes, while women in white saris and white-robed attendants follow behind. A cameraman with a video camera films from the left, a man in white stands at the edge, and a long wooden staff leans against the wall. In the centre, a man in a red-orange turban and a white and orange flower garland, with a rudraksha-style bead mala and red-gold cloth, presses his palms together in greeting. Beside him, a bald man in a brown-and-gold shawl and wooden-bead mala walks with hands folded. On the right, an elder with white hair and beard, wearing a pale orange robe and pink shawl and a red tilak on his forehead, walks forward with a calm expression. Behind them, bearded sadhus, a man in white dhoti with a gold-edged cloth, and others in saffron and white press palms together. Three other men in white kurta and dhoti with orange shawls stand behind him, and a man in a striped shirt with folded hands stands at the right edge. Woven mats lie on the ground and a dark fire pit with ash is visible in the background. The saffron-clad man does not show clear, distinctive presentation cues beyond the shawl and mala, so identity is uncertain and he is described by role only as a sannyasi-clad man.2010-08-25Outdoor photo in a temple courtyard beside a stone gopuram with sculpted figures and a grey stone wall with nandi bulls on top. A central figure in an orange-saffron shawl over a gold-bordered orange garment wears an orange turban and a long yellow and red flower garland, holding his hands together at his chest while walking. Around him stand many men in white shirts and white dhotis, several wearing orange shawls and blue lanyards, some with hands folded in prayer and others holding small items. Behind them is a pink and red-roofed shrine building with arched windows and palm trees beyond. The paved stone ground has a small metal plate set into it.2006-09-24
