A smiling man in an orange saffron turban and orange draped garment stands barefoot beside a large black stone deity murti with a tall crown, under a thatched straw roof. He holds a brass pot in one hand while the other touches the statue's arm. A brass vessel stands nearby, and a person in white is partly visible behind him. Several onlookers in colourful clothing stand to the left, and the scene appears to be a ritual abhishekam setting. A faint circular purple logo appears at the top right corner.2004-06-10June 10 20042004-06-10A man in a saffron-orange turban and flowing orange robe stands in profile beside a large polished black stone deity murti, touching its raised hand, while water glistens on his arm and the stone. Behind him a thatched palm-leaf roof shelters people in white dhotis, and a metal vessel sits near the base. The murti wears an ornate crown and detailed carved jewellery. The man's appearance, with long hair and saffron turban and robe, is a distinctive cue, but the page does not place him at this event, so his identity is uncertain.2004-06-10A photograph of a ritual at a shrine with a dark stone platform and two deity murtis behind it, one in gold and red with a crown and necklaces, the other in red and gold with a large jewelled necklace. A man with long dark hair and an orange-red robe with a rudraksha mala stands at center, raising his arm to place a hand on the head of a man with curly grey hair in a white kurta and white dhoti. To the left, a bald man in a brown-orange robe smiles and holds a white paper. A woman in an orange sari holds a basket behind them, and several people in white and orange stand at the left edge. A dark shiva lingam-like stone pillar stands at right. Swamiji (probable): the long-haired man in orange-red with a rudraksha mala and sanyasi-style robes is the. The scene suggests a initiation or blessing ritual.2008-01-17January 17 20082008-01-17February 23 20072007-02-23February 23 20072007-02-23February 05 20152015-02-05 +1 copiesFebruary 05 20152015-02-05 +1 copiesFebruary 23 20072007-02-23A man in a wet orange silk dhoti and matching orange turban stands beside a large black stone deity murti, pouring water from a brass pot held in his right hand onto the statue's shoulder during an abhishekam. He has long dark hair and his upper body is bare with the orange cloth draped over one shoulder. A brass vessel sits at his feet, and a thatched palm-leaf canopy shades the scene. Behind him, two women sit at the side, one wearing a teal sari and the other an orange sari, watching the ritual. Brass pots and offerings rest on a red-draped table nearby.2004-06-10Outdoor ritual on a dirt ground under palm trees and a tin-roofed tent. A long-haired figure in a sleeveless saffron-orange garment with a shawl draped over the shoulders and a heavy gold bead necklace pours water from a polished brass pot held in both hands. Water splashes down beside the pot. To the left, a man in white dhoti with an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala holds a brass plate of mixed flowers. Behind, a crowd of about a dozen people in white and bright clothing stands with palms pressed together in namaskar; a small child in a patterned shirt and a woman in a green top stand among them. A second brass pot sits on the ground at lower right. This appears to be an abhishekam-style water offering.2008-12-31
