It was during this year that the maternal grandfather of His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam (HDH), Raju Mudaliar gifted him with a small brass deity of the Hindu Goddess Annapoorneshwari, the presiding Goddess of food to who till this date is first offered all food cooked in all monasteries or Aadheenams of HDH across the world. Raju Mudaliar thatha (grand-father in tamil language) gifted this to Him from a trip to the sacred town of Varanasi (Kashi) wherein she is worshipped through a world-renowned temple dedicated to her.
