1979 - choosing the rudraksha mala
Choosing the Rudraksha Mala
Not even a year after the birth of His Divine Holiness, the enlightened beings who facilitated His birth planned to test the happening of Superconsciousness into the physical form. His gurus were experts in the field of birthing. Mathaji Vibhutananda Puri herself mastered the science of commanding her body to ovulate upon her will when she wished to have children. Yogananda Puri experimented and mastered the science of making twins, triplets and quadruplets happen in his own wife. Isakki Swamigal had made thousands of women conceive just by giving them a handful of the mud from Arunachala. Their ventures were all trials before they brought the ultimate Superconsciousness into the form of His Divine Holiness. At this moment in time, they were ultimately aware that far too much depended on this happening perfectly according to plan.
Finally it came to the day when they were to test their success.
Mathaji Vibhutananda Puri placed a rudraksha mala, a sacred energized bead, among a box of jewels that belonged to His grandfather's sister, Dhanakotti Ammal. The box was placed in front of His Divine Holiness with dazzling pearls, diamonds and precious stones that could distract the eyes of a human child.
But the hands of His Divine Holiness were only attracted to the single string of rudraksha beads which He pulled out from beneath precious jewels.
The rudkrasha mala which HDH pulled out of the jewelry box is still preserved today in the Sovereign Archives, the national archives of Sovereign1
As He sweetly placed His mouth on the rudraksha beads, His lotus shaped eyes playfully shone as if to mock their test of Paramashiva.
To all His gurus, who were overjoyous with the awareness that they were in the presence of Paramashiva, He had established Himself as rudraksha-priya, Shiva who is the lover of Rudrakshas.
Upon recalling this years later, His Divine Holiness sings poetically, in the entrance of His own divine leela,
Rudhiraakkamum Thiruneerum Panjaakaramume Aniyathakkana Rudhiraakkamum Thiruneerum Panjaakaramume Madhikathakkana Matravai ellaam Midhikathakkana.
Rudhiraakkam Madhi, Matradhellam Midhi.2
The adornment of rudraksha, thiruneer ( the sacred ash) and the chanting of the 5 syllable chant “namah shivaya” is the only way. The adornment of rudraksha, thiruneer and the chanting of the 5 syllable chant, is the only thing worth respect. All else is completely irrelevant (that one can step on it and go away).
