Devotees Day: Nithyananda Jayanthi Morning Satsang Message 25 Dec 2010

Description:

Today, Dec 25th, 2010, we celebrate "Devotee's Day -- Devotion the very life of devotees!" at the 'Anandotsav 2011' celebrations of Living Enlightened Master and Rare Avatar, Paramahamsa Nithyananda's 34th birthday festivities being celebrated in all its grandeur across the planet by all devotees.

Devotion, the dearest topic to Paramahamsa Nithyananda, an experience that cannot be shared through words, Swamiji shared the essence of being a devotee, "If something else is part of your life, relax, you are not a devotee. If you think you are a devotee, be very clear, devotion should be your life, very breathing, very core. Understand, devotion can be an idea in your brain or just a superficial emotion or sentiment. Unless it becomes your breath, your prana, your life force, you cannot call yourself as a devotee."

Describing this sacred sentiment that melts the source itself, Swamiji spoke thus, "Devotion, the sacred sentiment is a direct method, direct way to liberation, enlightenment, an intense experience of the ultimate! It is the melting of the heart, melting of the very system, of the very source into the source. I dedicate this day to all the devotees who stood by me just because of their devotion. Not because of their social expectations or other reasons. Millions stood by me throughout this scandal with their devotion and melted heart."

Glorifying the qualities of devotion, the Master said that devotion is such that even once if your core is touched, it cannot leave you. It just transforms and pulls you back. Quoting a beautiful example that Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa says that - in Vrindavan, they throw little 'avin' mixed with rice to peacocks so that they can dance. The next day the peacocks are ready, sharp on time to taste it again. The same way all devotees are ready sharp at 7.30 a.m. to be in His presence during the morning pada puja and Satsang.

Swamiji then shared the extraordinary, wonderful incidents from His very own life about His deep devotion with 'Arunagiri Yogeshwara' (Lord Shiva's Avatar) from His childhood days at His birthplace, Tiruvannamalai -- much to the delight of all devotees present in the Satsang.

He shared that He used to search the whole house to see what to give Arunagiri Yogeshwara. He used to long to take the whole house itself and give to him. One day when Raghupati Yogi, his master, was explaining Patanjali Yoga Sutras as "when you feel one with nature, nature listens to you", Nithyananda asked him how it is possible and after meditating and contemplating, when He was in ecstasy, He was able to make a huge boulder roll down just as Raghupati Yoga moved His hand. Same way, Swamiji wished to lift His house and gift it to Arunagiri Yogeshwara.

Swamiji explained, "the very idea that you and the object of devotion are separate does not exist. You do not know what to give. It is such a sacred feeling! The whole day I used to feel what can I take to him and what can I give him. You just do not know in what way can I please him, what satisfied him, what pleases him, you just do not know."

"Devotion is the sacred sentiment which makes you feel how can I please him. You know very clearly you cannot fulfill him, he is already fulfilled. But how can I please him, what can I do for that, how can I pour myself to him. That intense mode is what is called devotion."

"This is my message for devotees day -- imbibe, imbibe, imbibe just be soaked in this one sacred sentiment -- how can I please him? To whichever object you are connected to -- again & again soak yourself, fill yourself in this one sacred sentiment you will melt in devotion."
