Description:

In today’s morning Satsang from Varanasi, Paramahamsa Nithyananda defined the Root Pattern which is the pattern through which you keep your struggles alive, thus preventing breakthrough. It is the biggest block to enlightenment. He went on to explain that the Root pattern is what you hold the people around you with. How you hold the people around you is how life will hold you; however it is possible to complete with the root pattern.

5:19

Today, in the Inner Awakening, we are going to expand on, we are going to work on Root Patterns, the pattern of struggle with which you are constantly keeping your inauthenticity alive.

Many time, whenever I open up and share a principle, people ask me, ‘Swamiji, tell us how to do, technique.’ The moment I give the technique, ‘Swamiji, how to do this technique, can you give some other technique?’ The moment I give a technique for a technique, they say, ‘Can you give a technique for the technique of its technique?’ Means, in your effort to postpone the transformation, in your effort to postpone Authenticity happening, just to keep your inauthenticity alive, you go on making all the techniques ineffective on you.

Please understand, root pattern is the system through which you continue to keep your struggle and inauthenticity – the strong belief you cannot do it alive. All of you understand? ‘you can’t do it alive’

I am defining Root Pattern. See I don’t speak from mind; I speak from spontaneity. Listen. Root Pattern is nothing but the pattern through which you keep your struggle, your impossibility, your inauthenticity alive. Why you don’t want to have a breakthrough? Because, if you have a breakthrough, then more and more possibility for transformation will open up!

I have seen, when people come to the ashram in the name of seekers and sannyasis, they don’t want to take up any responsibility and make it successful, because if they do one, then, naturally, the reward for one success is one more responsibility. Please understand, the reward for one success is one more responsibility.

So, understand, Root Pattern is what Buddha calls as ‘Mara’, Advaitha calls as ‘Maya’. In every tradition, what we consider as the biggest blockage for enlightenment is Root Pattern. But do you know the funny thing? The root Pattern is not that powerful as it is portrayed in many traditions. Mara is not that powerful. Maya is not that powerful.

10:17

Please listen. Just few days before, myself and one of my Mahant, both of us were going for a evening boat ride. When we went, don’t ask. Just few hours, somehow we stole from our tight routine and; myself and Mokshapriyananda, we were sitting. So, that time, there was a discussion, very serious discussion. It is very difficult to get Mokshapriyan’s listening. There was a very serious discussion about why our Vision Department has no vision.

He was telling, ‘Swamiji, we need to bring new hands, new people inside, because these guys, constantly they are in the fear syndrome’

I asked, ‘Why? Tell me.’

‘See, they do some mistake and then get fired and fall into the fear, because of the fear they do more mistake, and it becomes a vicious circle for them.’

I was laughing. Please understand.

I told him, ‘This moment I am ready to liberate them all. I will be the most happiest person to liberate them this moment, say, ‘This moment you become a Shrimahant. Run it on your own’.’

I am the first person, I will be the first person to tell; because, if you keep anybody under fear, you will be kept under fear, understand. Whatever you maintain with people around you, you will be made to maintain that. It’s a law of life. If you maintain joy with people around you, you will be made to maintain joy inside you. If you maintain trust with people around you, you will be made to maintain trust inside you; because you are not intelligent enough to separate you and others all the time.

So, be very clear, what you spread with the people around you, that will be automatically forced inside you. If you are all the time inside a charcoal godown, naturally the charcoal dust pieces will get into your system. If you are all the time inside an acid tank, naturally the acid will somehow get into your system. If you are all the time in the nectar pot, naturally the nectar will get into your system. So, what is the pattern with which you hold people around you?

I am the last person; not even last, I will never want to hold people through fear, because I know the science. If I have to hold people through fear, I will be held by the fear. It is a law of life. I always wanted to hold the people by inspiration, joy, vision, success, bliss, powerfulness, Completion.

I asked him, ‘Please you find the solution, come back to me with some solution.’

I am sharing this incident just to reveal this one important truth - With what you hold the people around you, is your Root Pattern. Inside me, I constantly hold people around me through my bliss, seeing their possibility. That is why life also holds me in the same way, understand? But, unfortunately, people get frightened about bliss and transformation to their possibility. Many people who come in the name of seekers, they are afraid of transformation; because transformation means more responsibility. And once you take it up, the reward will be more responsibility. Once you take it up, the reward will be more responsibility.

15:40

Once the Pancheshwar was sitting and questioning somebody who has done some mistakes. See, in our Sangha, we have our self-correcting mechanism – ‘Pancheshwar’. Means, either five Shrimahants or Mahants sit and take an oath that ‘We will handle this whole situation and the person, only based on Dharma, the Advaitha tatwa.’ And then they conduct an investigation or inquiry into that problem or the mistake of the person, help the person to come out of that mental setup; that’s all. And the person takes a prayaschitta on his own or her own, whatever the person need to do to get out of that mental setup, that pattern.

So once the Pancheshwar was sitting and inquiring a person. The person has done some sizable mistake and not ready to accept. The Pancheshwar decided ‘I think this person should not be in our ashram, or at least, should be transferred to the branch centre. I told, ‘Wait, we are hoping to have ten-lakh sadhus. The structure we are creating is for million sannyasis. So, you think this kind of models, specimens, sample pieces will not come in the ten-lakh? So, like this, ten-thousand will come in that ten-lakh. So, handle this one, train this one, and get trained.’ Understand, success in the responsibility is rewarded with more responsibility. I told the Pancheshwar, ‘Yes, you are successful in your responsibility. The reward now for you is more responsibility. Now you have to be successful handling this one person, because you are going to have ten-lakh persons like this, understand?’

I think you need to understand that two thing. One truth, the reward for the success is more responsibility. And, if you want success, you should take more responsibility.

I told the Pancheshwar, ‘You guys are planning for ten-lakh sannyasis. You are working towards that vision. Because, the vision I give is vision you carry, you hold.’

I am very clear, the whole Sangha is clearly working towards causing ten-lakh, means, one-million, spiritually educated, experienced, radiating sannyasis. Please understand, I will cause this while I am in this body. That is the only way Sanatana Hindu Dharma can be revived practically as every individual’s life strategy, life science. If you see the Master Plan of my Samadhi, you will be shocked. Samadhi alone, ten-thousand samadhis, I am doing Master Plan. Means, in this ten-lakh, whoever becomes enlightened while they are living, they will all have the Samadhi around my Samadhi. So, at least, at least, ten-thousand enlightened beings will have Samadhi in one place. This larger responsibility needs you to take more responsibility.

20:48

Your Root Pattern should become powerless by the way you take the responsibility, or your responsibilities will become powerless by the way your Root Pattern is overpowering you. Listen, it is the game of who wins over who, who declares their supremacy over who; whether your responsibility is going to declare its supremacy over your Root Pattern or your Root Pattern is going to declare its supremacy over your responsibility. That’s all. That’s all. Are you going to be chanting ‘impossibility’ twenty-four hours as Ajapa Japa – ‘Impossible, Impossible, Impossible, Impossible, Impossible, Impossible, Impossible, Impossible; Sitting also impossible. Finally, lying down also impossible, Sleeping also is not possible, sleeping also impossible, nothing is possible. Impossible, Impossible, Impossible, Impossible.’? Are you going to be doing that Japa of impossibility, or ‘Possible, Possible, Possible, Possible, Possible.’? It is just a war whether your Root Pattern is going to declare its supremacy over you, or your responsibility is going to declare its supremacy over your Root Pattern. The whole thing boils down to that one line.

Root Pattern is the constant impossibility you cherish.

Yesterday I was put a question by Pragnesh. He says ‘Swamiji, Please define Advaitha, feeling oneness with other people. At the physical level, mind level, there cannot be oneness due to uniqueness of each individual. There can be connection only at heart, or at the heart level of consciousness, awareness. Can you please explain?’

I think this question you will understand more when we work on the Root Pattern. Pragnesh, I will show you the experiential answer for this question today itself, because, today we are going to work on the Root Pattern. You will see, even in physical and mental level, Advaitha can be experienced. ‘Each one is unique’ itself is Advaitha. ‘Each one is same only’ is not Advaitha. ‘Each one is unique’ is Advaitha. How? You will see today.

Oneness is not Advaitha, understand. Advaitha is non-duality, but not oneness. The moment you say ‘one’, there is ‘two’. So, this has to be experienced. Today you will see.

The Root Pattern, the pattern which started patterns in you; parent of patterns in you, is Root Pattern. Parent of patterns in you is Root Pattern. Listen.

At some point, the Advaitha is lost in every human-being’s life. At that moment only the Root Pattern starts growing in you. Now, completing with that Root Pattern, getting back to the original state of Advaitha, the original space of Advaitha, is what we are going to work today. Today that is what we are going to work.

25:43

One thing I am very happy. Let me put it in my words directly. I am happy with this whole batch, with all you guys. The sincerity you guys carry is more than what I expected for such large batch. Please understand, such large batch, the whole overall sincerity is more than what I expected. So, you guys are doing what you need to do. So, I commit with you guys and promise I will do what I need to do. I will surely do what I need to do. With this team I can really feel that we will be able to help everyone to find the Root Pattern and complete with it.

Any adult, the moment your body becomes physically mature, the first thing you need to do, the person need to be taught is, finding the Root Pattern and completing with it. Finding the Root Pattern and completing with it. It is very unfortunate the human-beings lost this science. Human-beings lost this since.

Mahadeva’s Trishul represents Completion with Root Pattern; because, only his Trishul can destroy our Root Pattern. Only his Trishul is powerful enough to complete our Root Pattern. And you are in the city which is held by Mahadeva’s Trishul – Varanasi, Ananda Vana. And, that is why, when Shankara divides the areas and makes Shankaracharyas – South he makes Dakshinamnaya Shringeri Peetha, Uttaramnaya, Paschimamnaya – he makes all the four Peethas, Purvamnaya; Purva, Uttara, Paschima, Dakshina. Then after a successor is installed, the Shankaracharyas were supposed to retire. The retiring place is Moolamnaya – Kanchi. But he says very clearly, in any of these, Kashi is not covered, Kashi doesn’t come under any of these five. Because Kashi is held by Mahadeva’s Trishula, it is called Oordhwamnaya. He makes this as a separate Amnaya, Kashi. And this is the place, Varanasi is the place, where he conquered Mandana Mishra, and Mandana Mishra became his disciple Sureshwaracharya. Kashi has become Oordhwamnaya, because Mahadeva holds this Ananda Vana by the tip of his Trishul.

31:08

Somebody asked me, ‘Swamiji, you gave names to so many cities, spiritual names.’

Many of you may be aware for Ohio I gave the spiritual name ‘Prayag’, for Oklahoma ‘Somanatham’, for New York ‘Varanasi’, for London ‘Kashi’. I have given a spiritual name wherever our ashrams and temples are there, for St. Louis ‘Thirumala’. Only ‘Kashi’ name I have given to two cities; means, one ‘Kashi’, one ‘Varanasi’.

Somebody asked me, ‘Swamiji, you love this name ‘Ananda Vana’ so much. Why you have not given it to any city?’

I wanted to give this name ‘Ananda Vana’ to wherever my quarters are built, wherever there is a staying place for me, in any ashram if there is a staying place for me, that place should be called as ‘Ananda Vana’. Because, this Ananda Vana is held by Mahadeva in his Trishul, understand. In this sacred place, right place, right person, right process you are going to go through today. Only Mahadeva’s Trishul can destroy your Root Pattern. And, I commit with you guys, it will destroy all your Root Patterns and liberate you all from the Root Patterns, free you all from the Root Patterns. Freedom from the Root Pattern is the real freedom. Freedom from the Root Pattern is the real freedom.

33:19

The essence of today’s satsangh – three statements:

· However you hold the people around you, the same way life will hold you. If you hold your teamily with love, trust, joy, life will hold you with love, trust, joy. If you hold your teamily with fear, life will hold you with fear. If you hold your teamily with bliss and possibility, life will hold you in the same way - bliss and possibility. I am very clear, I hold my teamily with bliss and possibility. How you hold your teamily, life will hold you the same way. That’s the first statement.

· Second: Your Root Pattern is the first pattern which moved you away from Advaitha, brought you to hell, started and continuing to torture you.

· Third: The good news - you can discover your Root Pattern and complete it.

· The best news - today we will do it. There is no need always after a good news, bad news has to come. No. After good news, best news can come.

Mokshapriyan has a question. No, Ma Jnanatma has a question: ‘You have told earlier, how you hold people is what they are attracting. That is the only way they will get awakened to life. So, is it not that Swamiji putting them into fear, but that is the only thing that awakens them and they are attracting it?’

No. Please be very clear. I hold all of you only with bliss and possibility. You need to know, even the bliss, when it comes too much, you get frightened. Because, bliss will remind you all your possibility, it will take you away from your usual cosy slumber with which you can go on cheat yourself and me, understand. Yesterday, when I asked you, how nicely you were cheating, ‘No, no, no, no, no, I have to be here.’, so that you don’t need to do anything else, and here you can be sleeping in the tech pit. So, look in, what keeps you cosy? That holds you in fear, not me. I hold you in bliss and possibility. That is why I am always held by life in bliss and possibility. Mokshapriyan is clear? So, I am not responsible for the fear of the Vision Department.

37:06

When there is bliss and possibility, you get frightened ‘Possibility! If I am successful in this, by mistake if I am successful in this, more work will come to me, more responsibility! Then I will become a Mahant, Shrimahant, and I may become like Swamiji. Oh God. Who wants his life? You can only go to bed by night 11:30, 12 o’clock. And, even after that, you have to attend many things. And then early morning you have to be out and be here. It is not one day, two day, day in and day out! And you have to be all the time smiling, joyful!’

So, be very clear, I cannot hold anybody in fear, because I don’t have fear. Only what I have, with that I can hold you guys. See, if I have a knife in my hand, I can hold you all through the knife. If I have flower, I can hold you guys only through flower. I only have flower with me; but the flower itself is so much, you are afraid of getting into it, being held by it.

Intensity is not violence. Intensity of Swamiji is not aggression. In aggression, your possibility will be denied. In violence, your possibility will be denied. In intensity, your possibility will be constantly reminded to you. There is a big difference between intensity and violence. In violence, the end expectation is, you getting destroyed. In the intensity, the end result expectation is, you flowering. So, the training model for our Sangha is intensity, not violence. Clear?

I bless you all. Let you all radiate with Integrity, Authenticity, Responsibility, Enriching and Causing eternal bliss, Nithyananda. Thank you.
