PRAMANA:Āpta Pramāṇa - आप्त प्रमाण

Kumbhaka Paddadhi 195-196

Original Verse:

"न वर्धयेन्-निरोधं च यथा-शक्त्या सुसंयमम् |

चरेत्-स कुम्भकोऽमेरुश्-चिरकालेन सिद्धिदः ॥ १९५ ॥

अमुम्-अभ्यसतः पुंसो नैसर्गिक-मेरु-सम्भूतिः ॥

बहुभिः कालैर्-भूयाद्-अगण्य-पुण्यैर्-परा सुमतेः ॥ १९६ ॥"


Transliteration:

"na vardhayen-nirodhaṃ ca yathā-śaktyā susaṃyamam |

caret-sa kumbhako'meruś-cirakālena siddhidaḥ ॥ 195 ॥

amum-abhyasataḥ puṃso naisargika-meru-sambhūtiḥ ॥

bahubhiḥ kālair-bhūyād-agaṇya-puṇyair-parā sumateḥ ॥ 196 ॥"


Translation:

"When the breath-holding time is not increased and practised according to one’s own capacity, it is Ameru-Kumbhaka, which gives results in the long run, if practised judiciously. With the prolonged practice of this, one attains perfection of Meru easily through a great fortune. "
