Kumbhaka Paddadhi 154-157
Original Verse
"मात्रा-कुम्भो हृदि कृतः शोषकः सम्प्रकीर्तितः । दाहनो नाभि-संस्थानो मात्राकुम्भः प्रकीर्तितः ॥ १५४ ॥
स्वाधिष्ठाअनुगश्-चायं प्लावनोऽमृत-सेचनः। मूलाधारे कृतश्-चायं कठिनी-करणो मतः॥१५५॥
पुनः कण्ठानुगो पञ्च व्यूहनः स्यात् स Kउम्भकः । ब्रह्म-स्थान-नियोगेन मुक्तिदः परिकीरितः ॥ १५६ ॥
रुद्ध्वा घोणा-युगं कुर्याद्-युगपद्-यदि षट्-क्रमात् । भूत-शुद्धिर्-इति प्रोक्त आदिनाथेन शम्भुना ॥ १५७ ॥"
Transliteration
"mātrā-kumbho hṛdi kṛtaḥ śoṣakaḥ samprakīrtitaḥ । dāhano nābhi-saṃsthāno mātrākumbhaḥ prakīrtitaḥ ॥ 154 ॥
svādhiṣṭhāanugaś-cāyaṃ plāvano'mṛta-secanaḥ। mūlādhāre kṛtaś-cāyaṃ kaṭhinī-karaṇo mataḥ॥155॥
punaḥ kaṇṭhānugo pañca vyūhanaḥ syāt sa Kumbhakaḥ । brahma-sthāna-niyogena muktidaḥ parikīritaḥ ॥ 156 ॥
ruddhvā ghoṇā-yugaṃ kuryād-yugapad-yadi ṣaṭ-kramāt । bhūta-śuddhir-iti prokta ādināthena śambhunā ॥ 157 ॥"
Translation
" If Matra-Kumbhaka is practiced in the chest region, it causes absorption and practiced in the navel region, it generates heat.154
When practiced in Swadhisthana, it increases the flow of nectar, when practiced in muladhara, one attains stability. 155
When practiced in the region of throat, this Kumbhaka balances the five bhūtas and practiced in the Brahmasthāna (region of Brahmarandhra), it leads to emancipation.156
According to Ādinātha (Śambhu), if this Kumbhaka is practiced simultaneously in the six regions (stated above) in progression, it leads to purification of the bhūtas.157"
