Original Verse

अथ शवासनम् उत्तानं शववद् भूमौ शयनं तु शवासनम्॥शवासनं श्रान्तिहरं चित्तविश्रान्तिकारकम्॥ १८॥


Transliteration

atha śavāsanam uttānaṁ śavavad bhūmau śayanaṁ tu śavāsanam ॥ śavāsanaṁ śrāntiharaṁ cittaviśrāntikārakam ॥ 18 ॥


Translation

One lies supine on the ground (motionless) like a dead body. This is savasana, which removes physical fatique and gives rest to the mind. 18

Steps/Technique

1. Lie on the ground with the arms by your side at a comfortable distance from the body. 2. Keep the head straight.
