Pramana: Śāstra Pramāṇa - शास्त्र प्रमाण

Sastra Pramana Source: Raurava Agama - Mudra Laskanam V.12

Original Verse: "निपीडयेत्तथाङ्गुष्ठौ हस्तयोरुभयोरपि ॥१२॥ तयोश्चाभिमुखं कृत्वा निष्ठुरां तु प्रयोजयेत् ।"

Transliteration: "nipīḍayettathāṅguṣṭhau hastayorubhayorapi ॥12॥ tayoścābhimukhaṃ kṛtvā niṣṭhurāṃ tu prayojayet ।"

Translation: Nishthura Mudra is to be shown by keeping the thumbs bent, keeping them pressed within the closed hands and keeping this gesture turned towards the Deity. This mudra should be shown to stabilize the presence of the Deity in the image being worshipped.
