Pavazhakundru Attack
Title
ASSASSINATION ATTACKS AT ADI NITHYANANDA PEETHAM, PAVAZHA KUNDRU
Description
In 1989, this sacred hillock was where His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam had his first enlightenment experience. It was a full moon day, he had a profound realisation of his own self in everything. He was 12 years old at the time. For the past 30 years His Divine Holiness has had right over it as that place was given to him. He was coronated as the owner of the property by his Guru (teacher) Mataji Kuppammal in 1981 when she built a temple for him. Even though all the property documents favor His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam, the Tamilnadu State Government has been continuously attempting to confiscate this land through illegal, inhumane and violent ways. Brutal mob lynching, sexual assault and inhumane manhandling and physical abuse were brought upon the ASMT monks staying there, in order to drive them away and take illegal possession of the sacred land.
Pavazha Kundru is a hilltop sacred spot on Arunachala, the Mountain-form of the primordial Hindu deity, Paramashiva, in Tiruvannamalai, South India, which is the birthplace of His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam. Pavazha Kundru is the place where the Cosmic Mother did penance, realized Herself as a complete synthesis of the male and female energies, and became revered by the ASMT community as the deity called Ardhanareeshwara. The Ardhanareeshwara temple here marks this divine happening.
1980 (approximately) - His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam cognized Himself as a Sanyasi (Monk as per Sanatana Hindu Dharma or Hinduism). This picture was taken at approximately age 3, when He started wandering in Tiruvannamalai, His birthplace, and virtually lived in Pavazha Kundru - a historic spot atop the sacred Arunachala Hill where Devi (Cosmic Mother) realized herself as Ardhanareeshwara – the Hindu God who is the perfect synthesis of the male and female energies. Here, He is seen near Draupadi Amman temple, near His Yoga Guru – Ragupathi Yogi’s house in Tiruvannamalai, South India.
