Sadāshiva samārambām shankarācharya madhyamām Asmadācharya paryanthām vande guru paramparām

I welcome you all with My love and respects.

(02:38)

I thank Dallas Hindu temple and their authority for hosting this program. A wonderful reception they offered for Me. As you may all be aware, I am speaking on Yoga Sutras, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. This whole year we are dedicating for living enlightenment - Jeevan Mukti, that one truth and this whole trip, My world tour, they are dedicating it for Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

(03:26)

Patanjali is the father of Yoga, all the yoga systems and…. greatest master with largest following in the planet earth. The other day I was reading an article. There are different masters who touch different levels of human beings. Somebody touches only the emotional balancing means they give life solutions, people try to practice. Some people touch just the physical dimension. There are some masters who touch the mental level. There are some masters who touch the conscious growth but Patanjali is a master who touches you in all levels- physical, mental, spiritual and social. Greatest master who is founder of all the Yoga systems.

(04:51)

I can say, he is unique because he is the first master who made enlightenment as a science, who brought life and logic to the whole spiritual world. Till Patanjali, enlightenment was more or less like an accident. You should be continuously doing something. Suddenly it may happen but with Patanjali, he made the whole thing as system. Enlightenment or Atmajnana is not an accident. He makes the whole thing as a system and step by step, he guides us. Beautiful eight steps which he calls Ashtanga yoga. Through that he guides seekers. His words are universal. When he starts talking about his teachings, he uses a beautiful word, ‘Sarvabhoumya Vrataha’ means the universal truths, universal vows. So what he talks universally applicable to all human beings.

(06:17)

Today I am going to speak on sixteenth sutra. He beautifully describes what is yoga and how to achieve that state of yoga step by step. First thing, I want all of you to know, yoga is not just physical posture, it has more sanctity to it. It is something beyond body. It helps you to have health and mental well being but it is not just replacing your anacin and metacin. We have a idea yoga is just for health, physical health. No, physical health is side effect of yoga. Yoga by itself is more sacred. It has its own sanctity. Patanjali exactly describes what is yoga and leads us to that yoga state, that yogi state by different sutras, by different verses. In these verses which I am going to speak now, he is talking about vairagya. It is a very beautiful word-vairagya.

(07:45)

I can say, the ideas which Patanjali is sharing with us now with this sutra, vairagya, this is the Vedic solution for this economy crisis. He is giving us Vedic solution. If this one word is understood, this one concept, this vairagya is understood properly, we will not have the problems of extreme materialism and the problems created by the extreme materialism and many problems created inside us by these so-called spiritual ideas. This understanding of this word vairagya is necessary for the people who live in the world and people who work towards the spiritual enlightenment. In both levels, we need to understand this word, a very powerful word. I can say, most misunderstood idea in the spiritual world is vairagya and this word is translated into English always as detachment. No, it is not detachment.

(09:15)

In Sanskrit we have three words: Raga means attachment, Araga means detachment, Viraga means beyond attachment and detachment. So the word vairagya has to be translated as beyond attachment and detachment. It is like a transcending. The word vairagya has to be translated as transcending the attachment, not detachment. This one confusion, this one word has created too much of confusion in the spiritual world. Because it is not understood properly, the concept was never practiced. The moment you use the word ‘detachment,’ people are afraid. They don't want to listen to what you are talking. They don't want to listen to what you are talking. I have seen, the very word ‘detachment’ or ‘renunciation’ is enough. Either they get up and walk or mentally they are shut. If they don't have that much of confidence, that much of courage to get up and walk, if they have some other work, they sit but mentally they are closed.

(10:34)

Patanjali gives us universal solution. Understanding of this one word can create cognitive shift in us: the way in which we observe things, the way in which we think, the way in which we express our understandings in our life as action. It is a very powerful sutra. He is describing about vairagya in two sutras- fifteenth sutra and sixteenth sutra. Now let us enter into today's sutra, the sixteenth sutra. If any of you wanted to know about the last sutras, whatever I have spoken fifteen sutras, it is available in YouTube. If you find time, please go through. It will really help you understanding about the earlier sutras. Now I will enter into sixteenth sutra, the today's sutra…. I will read the sutra. Then give you the translation. Then we will enter into the commentary: Tat param purusha kyathe Guna vydrishanyam

(12:13)

Let Me repeat the sutra again: Tat param purusha kyathe Guna vyidrashanyam There are many translations. The beauty of Sanskrit language is, each word if you break will give you different, different meanings. The Sutrakaras, the Acharyas who write sutras, they play with Sanskrit. If you read as one line, it gives you one meaning. If you break it as words, it gives you different meaning. If you study word by word, it gives you different meaning. All meanings are what they mean. That is the beauty of Sanskrit. All meanings are what they mean. They have kept all the secret keys, the spiritual keys in these sutras. So whoever reads, whoever listens, whoever internalizes, they understand as according to their maturity.

(13:23)

A initial level seeker if he opens up this book he will have inspiration to work on this sutra. A seeker who was working on these ideas for few years, if he opens and re-reads, he will have inspiration to go to the next level. A seeker who is almost done with everything, who is in the verge of enlightenment, if he reads, he will have that last push, that final jump. You can understand this sutra in many ways. I will try to give the translations, two-three translations and try to share what I need to share about this sutra from My own understanding and from My own experience. The translation of this sutra, it is from Swami Vivekananda and I have twelve translations. Maybe I will read two sample so that you can understand the same sutra how it can be viewed by different acharyas in different ways. Vivekananda’s translation: Tat Param Purushakyate Guna vydrishanyam This is the sutra. Vivekananda translates as, “That is extreme non-attachment which gives up even the thirst for the gunas.” The ‘guna’ word has no English word. You can't translate the word guna as character. Guna means the moods which you carry.

(15:15)

Sometime suddenly you will see for no reason you are in low mood. Sometime for no reason you are in a restless mood, irritated, agitated. Sometime for no reason you are in that restful awareness mood. These are the three major gunas we live with. The dullness or depression we call in Sanskrit- Tamas, inertness. Agitated, irritated, restless- we call that as Rajas, Rajo guna. Restful awareness, very peaceful and completely aware of what is happening inside and outside. This we call it as Sattva guna. Swami Vivekananda says when he translate these sutras, that is extreme non attachment which gives up even the thirst for gunas, even the thirst for these moods and which comes from the knowledge of the real nature of Purusha. He says, even the thirst for three gunas should be renounced which can happen only when you understand the Supreme self. This is the Vivekananda’s translation.

(16:52)

Here I will read Jnaneshwara’s translation, Sant Jnaneshwara: Indifference to the subtlest elements, constituent principles are qualities themselves achieved through a knowledge of nature of pure consciousness is called Supreme non-attachment. You can see how two different masters view this sutra from different level. Now I will try to give My translation, how I am translating and try to add whatever I want to add. Many Sanskrit words, the moment you try to translate with one english word, you will reduce the quality of the depth, depth of that word.

Withdrawing from desires through the conscious visualization of one’s inner space is the higher state of awareness.

Tat Param purusha khyate Guna vydrishnyam

Now let us enter into the subject, the today's subject, what Patanjali wants to convey through this Sutra…. Understanding of this one sutra can completely change the way in which we look at the world, the way in which we experience the world, the way in which we feel our life. The whole thing can be transformed just by this one sloka. In the last sutra, Patanjali spoke about the renunciation of the outer world things. In this sloka, Patanjali speaks about the vairagya related to the inner world. I can say, the vairagya related to the inner world is more important, need to be understood than the vairagya related to the outer world. As I was explaining the word vairagya, it is neither attachment nor detachment, beyond attachment and detachment. If I have to give one example, see, at the age of five, you are playing with toys- car, bus, so many different toys and now at the age of forty or fifty, you are not detached from the toys, you have transcended the attachment with the toys.

(02:19)

You don't say, “Oh! You don't know how difficult it is to renounce these toys.” It is not that you have a hangover. It is not that you constantly you are thinking about it and forcibly you renounced. No! You just transcended and you don't need it. You are just beyond. This is what I call vairagya. Just elevating your consciousness to that level where you don't feel all those things are attached to your being or you are detached from it. Please understand, this idea needs to be understood in a very deeper way from all the angles. I have seen people. In India, I lived nine years by walking, visiting different spiritual places and temples and staying there. Because of My travel I have seen different swamis, sadhus, vairagis, people who renounced. When you understand the word literally that word renunciation or vairagya in your own way, that can lead to too many complications.

(03:46)

I have seen these people. They will leave their house, wealth, everything and escape, go to Haridwar or Rishikesh, somewhere. They will sit outside some temple for their food begging and eating but slowly they will get attached to the place where they are sitting and they will not allow anybody else to sit in that place, I have seen, means the understanding about vairagya did not happen properly. One more thing, the moment they read this kind of some of the ideas…. you see, usually people are attached to the outer world, the materialistic things- I want this, I want this, I want this, I want this. Suddenly somewhere if they read or listen these material things only gives too much of problem, then immediately they start choosing poverty.

(04:51)

Please understand, choosing is suffering, not what you choose. Choosing is suffering. If you choose wealth or choose poverty, choice is suffering. The ultimate law is, choicelessness is bliss, choice is suffering. Even if you choose poverty, continuously you will be forcing yourself to live in that. I have seen some of these so called the social leaders who try to live in poverty. These guys will put up all shows that I will travel only in third class compartment, I only live like this, live like that. They put up a show, I have seen. The big problem is, these guys, to maintain their poverty, society has to spend so much money on them. No, really! These guys, they will not travel in the first class compartment. They will travel only in the third class. Because he is a big guy, the moment he wants to go into the third class compartment, the whole compartment has to be cleaned and re-organized and arranged equal to the first class. Better if he goes in the first class taking one ticket. Less money for the railway department, less expense for the railway department.

(06:09)

I have seen one Swami who drinks only milk. The big problem is, his whole battalion including the cow has to go with him. I think it is much better if you drink somewhere here and there. Sometime for poverty, too much money is spent. If you choose poverty, indirectly you choose many sufferings. Understand, here when Patanjali uses the word vairagya, neither choosing wealth nor choosing poverty, bringing a deep understanding about yourself, please understand, if you come to the understanding of choicelessness, suddenly you see you radiate so much of energy, so much of awareness, continuously you'll be attracting wealth towards you but you will not be bound by it at all.

(07:17)

Please understand, this is from My own experience I tell you, I am working with millions of disciples around the world. So whatever truth I express and they try to experiment and experience in their life, from My experience with them, I wanted you to understand an important fact, when you choose the choicelessness, when you are in choicelessness, suddenly the suffering, anxiety, fear, insecurity, everything disappears. When that disappears, your energy will be always in high mood. Naturally you will be creative, you will be expressing. You will attract wealth around you. Apart from that, you will be in that peaceful, restful awareness.

(08:17)

In the last Sutra, fifteenth sutra, Patanjali talks about the vairagya related to the outer world, the few ideas which I expressed now. Now he is taking us to the deeper level, deeper level of truths…. Each sutra of Patanjali can create a religion. Each sutra of Patanjali can create a religion. Please understand, many people come to Me and ask, “Swamiji, why do we have so many different gods, so many different paths, so many different masters, so many different techniques? I tell them, “Please understand, we had so much of inner world freedom. I ask them, see in the West, so much of outer world choices you have, whether variety of car or way of houses or luxury, all the comforts of the outer world, you have so much choice because they had freedom in the outer world, they went on exploring, exploring, exploring. They went on developing, developing, developing, doing so much of research and development in the outer world. So when so much of research and development happens in the outer world, you have variety.”

(09:42)

Same way, in the East we had so much of freedom in the inner world and so much of research and development happened in the inner world because so much of R and D happened in the inner world, we have variety. One more thing, each tradition of Hinduism is independently intelligent to lead you to enlightenment. Each master is self sufficient. That is why I call our Hindu tradition as group of religions. We are actually group of religions. Each tradition is independently intelligent. It can lead you to ultimate enlightenment. Each master is independently intelligent who can lead you to enlightenment. Each technique is independently intelligent. From scratch to ultimate it can lead you. Here each Sutra of Patanjali is independently intelligent. It can lead you to enlightenment.

(10:45)

Each Sutra of Patanjali can create a religion. This Sutra, ‘vydrishnyam,’ that is the keyword. I want you to understand that one word ‘guna vydrishnyam,’ free from the qualities- how we are caught in the qualities, how we can liberate ourself from the qualities. If you just look little deep, all our attachment or suffering is caused not just by the objects, the quality of mood which we experience through the object. Please understand, you want some objects again and again in your life if you believe some kind of mood is created by that object which is good for you. If you believe that a particular object creates a mood which you don't like, which you don't want, you wanted to move away from that object. For example, we want money not just for the sake of money. You see, money expands your freedom. For example, without money you have only one choice. You can lie down in your couch and worry. With money, you have choice of sufferings. Now you have more choice. You can lie down in Hawaii beach and worry or you can lie down in Miami Beach and worry or you can lie down in India- Ooty or Kodaikanal and worry. You have choice. That is the reason we go behind money.

(12:54)

See anything, whether it is object or a person, the mood which they create in you, based on that you decide whether you want to be around that or away from that. So ultimately everything boils down to the guna, to the quality which you experience in that…. Patanjali is such a great master, all the complications, difficulties, disorders a modern man is going to go through, he has predicted five thousand years ago and gave solution. Sometimes surprising, how could he predict what we are going to go through in the so-called developed civilization. See, all that modern day problems he is giving a solution in this one sutra.

(14:17)

Three thing needs to be understood. First thing: the object, object or a person. Money, your home or car, bank balance or son, father, mother, object or person anything which is in the outer world. Second thing, the experience which you go through because of that, because of that. If you are around object or person which creates joy in you, that emotion, that quality which you experience in your inner space, that is second thing. Third thing, the connection between these two. All these three needs to be understood. First the object, second the experience, third the connection between the experience and the object. The connection between these two. In Vedanta, we have a word called ‘Triputi’ means experienced: the object, experiencer: the subject, experience: what goes between these two. For example, a sweet. First, that sweet may create joy in you. So the experiencer experiences the joy. After sometime, maybe after four-five sweet, the same sweet may create different experience in the same experiencer.

(16:17)

Please understand, here the object is also same, the person who is experiencing also same but the experience itself will be different. Experience itself will be suddenly different. All we need to understand is, the experience and the experienced are independent. They cannot be logically connected. You can see in your life. The same person, when you are in love, how you feel connected how you always wanted to spend time around with that person. Suddenly when the love disappears the whole thing is topsy turvy. The whole thing is different. Now you just want to escape from that person. Same person and same... the person who is experiencing is same, the person who gives experience is same but suddenly the experience becomes different. Please understand, that is what Patanjali is trying to express here. All these three cannot be depended. All the three are constantly changing but you go on believing all these three are stagnant, all these three are eternal, all these three are permanent.

(17:48)

Please understand, the very root, the very root idea with which we are functioning and the very reality, the gap between these two is responsible for all our sufferings. That is responsible for all our sufferings in the outer world or in the spiritual practice. I can say, this sutra, if it is understood, many seekers, if you are a seeker and having lot of difficulty in your spiritual practice, everything can be cleaned. Wherever I go, whenever I meet seekers, this is the one question always asked- FAQ. This is the frequently asked question, “Swamiji, how can I balance between by materialistic life and spiritual practice? How can I balance between this life and this life?”

(18:47)

There is no such thing as two life. Understand, there is no such thing as two life. Because we have this foolish idea that there is two life, we always think especially Indians, they think spirituality is when you become old. No, really. I have seen in My programs, youngsters, they say, “Oh! Meditation we can do it in the old age. Leave it, it is okay.” And old people, they say, “All these things should have been done in the young age itself. Now it is too late.” This one understanding can solve the whole problem completely. Here and now, it can solve the problem. Any problem with this one understanding you can solve it. You can sort it out.

One story. I have few jokes and stories for you which I never miss. I will read out. It is a beautiful one liner…one story: The owner of a hardware store is dismayed when a huge new hardware store opens up next door, erecting a large sign saying, ‘Best deals.’ He is even more horrified with another huge hardware store opens up on the other side of his store putting up even a larger sign saying, ‘Lowest prices.’ The shopkeeper is panic. Then his spontaneity works. He has a bright idea. He puts a large sign over his own store saying, ‘Main entrance.’ Understand, one idea solved his whole problem! I can say, this one sutra can solve your whole problem - the problem which you have with experience and the experiencer. You also have two shops next to you, constantly bugging you, constantly nagging you.

(01:46)

Many of our problems are from the object, object not giving the quality of experience you wanted. That is one kind of problem, means you think money will do something for you and that is not happening through the money. You think car will do something for you. That is not happening through the car. You think house will do something for you. That is not happening through that object. Understand, car is useful to drive. Home is useful to stay. Refrigerator is useful to keep your food but we have a wrong idea, all these things put together can give fulfillment to us. No! You cannot have fulfillment through that.

(02:48)

So when you have the wrong expectation, the experience is not given by that object. That is one kind of problem. It is a preliminary level, first level. Second level problem, the same object which was giving a same experience which you really enjoyed, suddenly disappears even though you are having the same object around you. This is the second subtle level problem. Third level problem, the same object not only not giving you the same joyful experience, giving you the negative experience. That is the third level problem.

(03:35)

Patanjali beautifully solves all these three problem with this one sutra. Internalize this one sutra. Meditate on this one sutra. Change your understanding based on this one sutra. The whole thing will be solved. Nothing needs to be bothered. Guna vydrishnyam, all you need to understand, you can see, when you are in love, when your mind is supporting a particular person, suddenly you can see how your mind coins. Even though you have some problems and complications, you go on arranging, “No, no, no, no, no, he might have shouted at me yesterday but he is very good at heart. No, no, no, no, no, he is not that kind of a person. I think he was not in good mood yesterday.” Your arguments, how you arrange your ideas inside and how you justify yourself inside because you feel some pleasure can be experienced through that person which you need.

(04:59)

Very beautifully one upanishad says, you attract people in your life in the same frequency in which you are staying. Please understand, many people come and tell Me, “Swamiji, I don't know, I always attract abusive people around me.” No, look inside. You must be carrying that self pity. You may be enjoying subtly, unconsciously, somebody abusing you. When people abuse, suddenly you have self pity. You give attention to yourself. See, the mental setup becomes such, the society gives you attention only if you are suffering. Just yesterday I was reading a magazine in the flight. It says, 83% of women exaggerate their pain or symptoms and 76% of men exaggerate their pains and symptoms. Then you imagine, 83% means practically almost all the diseases and pains and sufferings are exaggeration because society goes on creating a mental setup. You are attended only if there is some repair, otherwise not.

(06:29)

So with this mental setup, your unconscious learns. It constantly creates the need for craving for the attention. When you don't have attention from others, you create a self pity, sympathy. Only then you give attention to yourself. Otherwise constantly you are attending the TV. Where is the time to attend to yourself? So mind creates a self pity. Please understand, this self pity mental setup. That is what I call hell. We have different kinds of hells. One is self pity, guilt. Don't think hell is geographical. No, it is psychological. It is psychological. It is not geographical. We have different kinds of hells described in Garuda Purana. They say that there will be a big oil well which will be boiling. You will be soaked inside and a hot iron rod will be put inside your eyes. No, all these things are different mental depression you go through.

(07:45)

I have studied thoroughly. I actually spent little time with that Garuda Purana and studied that hell descriptions. Please understand, if you go through a guilt, a deep guilt in this region, the heart region, you will see something heavy, very heavy and if you go through a self pity, you will have every skin, every pore, you will have pain on every pore. This same thing only they are describing there. I actually saw, for each sin, what punishment they describe in that Garuda Purana. Please understand, our masters are so clear and their intelligence into the human consciousness is so thorough. For example, if you have done something which really creates a deep guilt in you, what kind of physical pain you will go through.

(08:49)

Actually every emotion creates particular kind of a pain in your body. So usually the guilt creates heaviness in this area. They give you the same...... they describe the hell in a way that a big stone will be kept on your chest. The experience which you will go through with that emotion is graphically described. I can say, they have made a cartoon. They made a cartoon, the graphic definition. The graphic expression of what you will go through is only the hell. That is what is hell. Maybe when you create the deep self sympathy, you attract people constantly who abuse you. That is what Garuda Purana maybe describing. All the demons will be around you constantly poking at you. That is the hell…that is the hell you will be put in if you create self pity and it is true. You will be creating that kind of hell around you.

(09:55)

The first thing we need to understand, the first understanding which we need to have, ‘Triputi Bheda.’ In Vedanta we have this beautiful word ‘Triputi,’ the object- experienced and the subject- experiencer and the experience happening between the two. All the three are not logically connected. Please understand, they do not function with any particular logic. Today one person may create particular emotion in you. Tomorrow the same person may create different emotion in you. You can see. It is just tipping only- this side you tip or that side you tip, that's all. Sometime the same person, you start saying, “Oh! He did not do anything wrong to me but somehow I didn't like his energy at all.” I don't understand what do you mean by the word energy. We have our own words.

(11:06)

Another one big problem, the moment you coin some words about some person, you have created a prison for you. After that, you will never be able to cross that word and have direct connection with him. That is a huge problem. That is a big problem everyday you will be facing in your life. The moment you create an idea about him. When you start creating idea, it may be very casual. It may be very casual. Afterwards you will see, you yourself will be bound by that idea. You yourself will be bound by that idea and you go on and on and on and on, building up that idea. We are all almost accountants in the life. First thing, you make an account. What is the profit or loss of his presence in my life. Then you create an idea. After that, you work with that idea, that's all. Please understand, once you come to the conclusion, ‘right,’ even if he is wrong, even if the situation has changed, you go on working with the same idea. If you think it is wrong, even if that person is going to add something to your life, you are not interested in looking at it. Not being open is the major problem we face in our life.

(12:43)

Here Patanjali solves that one problem very beautifully. He says, “Do not be attached to the experience happens in your being by particular person or by particular object.” We are all accountants of our life. The big problem is, we calculate with very less data, very less data. First time you will be meeting that person. You have not even spent little time around him. You want to judge. I have seen. You just want to judge. You can't be. Somehow the mind does not feel relaxed, settled without passing a judgment. No, that is a big problem, that is a very big problem we face. You can't be settled without passing a judgment about somebody. Whether it is positive or negative, you have to pass a judgment. You can't be just aware, be fresh, alive, aware, move around. No, no, no, that is too much. That is too much. We want something to be done immediately- accountant mind. Accountant mind.

(14:02)

I have one more story for you: A company director is interviewing candidates for an important position and decides to select the individual who can answer the question, how much is 2+2. The first candidate is an engineer. He pulls out a slide rule and shows, “Oh! The answer is four.” The second candidate is a lawyer. He states that in case of Johnes, we are… two plus two was proven to be four. So here is also four. The final candidate is an accountant. When asked what is 2+2, the accountant slips out of his chair, checks to see if anyone is listening at the door. Then whispers, “Did you have a particular number in mind?

(15:19)

Understand, we are all accountant - constantly trying to look inside, constantly trying to pass judgment and we don't live with the reality. We don't look into the reality. That is what Patanjali says, ‘Guna vydrashinyam.’ He says, “Do not be attached to the qualities created by you, created inside you by some object or person.” If you are attached, please understand, you can look inside your life. The same person sometime creates so much joy in you and you feel, “God! I am so fortunate to have this person in my life,” and you go on adding, adding, adding, adding, adding all the positive things about that person. You feel your whole life is heaven, you are in heaven. Everything is green, rosy, beautiful, joyful, enjoying.

(16:29)

Suddenly you see when that love is lost, when that connection is lost, when that touch is lost, you start building your arguments this side, “Oh! No, how long I can be suffocating? It is too much! Enough is enough.” And moreover the big problem is, we have all these readymade words inside us. All you need is just tip this side. All these words are waiting. No, really. I am so fortunate. People ask Me, “Swamiji, how do You work so many hours?” If you see the website you can see, if you see our website, everyday somewhere of the other, I am speaking or conducting programs. They ask Me, “How do You work so many hours Swamiji? You travel so much continuously day in and day out.” Per year at least hundred thousand miles I fly, hundred thousand miles I drive. They ask Me, “How do You do?”

(17:31)

Only one reason. I am so fortunate to be born and brought up in Indian village where I have not been taught all these big big words- ‘Too much is in my plate,’ ‘I am swamped by work,’ ‘I am stressed out.’ No, there is no difference between your inner space and My inner space. The only one difference- I am born and brought up in Indian village. Fortunately, all these words are not taught to Me. No, really that is the only difference. Of course, cities of India have gone that.... they are no more part of India. See, India is not a geographical land, it is way of life. Bharat is way of life, it is not just the land.

The best thing human being can have in the planet earth is a yogi software - how a yogi feels about his body and his mind. That is the best thing a human being can have in the planet earth, how a yogi feels about himself. You see, we all go on working about, working for making money, getting house, car, bank balance, love, relationships and everything, everything. We work so much for all these things and social security, everything. Please understand, we forget one important thing- creating a right idea about our body and mind. I can say, that is the greatest gift I have received especially after I started traveling all over the world. Only then suddenly I realized the wonderful things I am.... I have. It is all just because of the Indian village bringing up.

(01:34)

The idea… you see, in the young age I was brought up by a great yogi. I had the fortune of living at his feet for few years. It is not that I was in some ashram or monastery, I was with My family only but he used to stay in that village. I will always go and sit with him, play with him. All I know is, he will give… everyday he will give candy, end of the session. Whenever I am leaving him, he will candy. Just for that, I will go and sit with him but somehow his ideas… you see, in the young age, whoever gives candy, you pick up their ideas, that's all. No, whoever gives candy, they are hero for you and naturally you pick up their ideas and the ideas which he put inside in My head, I can see still now how it works and how it supports My life and how free I am.

(02:30)

Somehow in the young age he taught Me, “You are a man. You can do anything.” Just the idea about the body. I was only surely less than six. I went to the house. Somehow I.... an idea came into My head that I should see whether I am able to tumble this cot in the house. The village cots if you see, it will be made out of teak wood, at least one ton weight. I just saw the cot. I decided, “I am a man as this Swami told Me and I can do anything.” Less than five-six year old boy, just I tumbled the cot and logically even now I am not able to understand how could I do that. Just the idea strongly goes inside, becomes part of your bio-memory, Prarabdha. It just becomes part of your bio-memory. Actually when I tumbled the cot, the relative who was there, he got frightened. He thought that cot has fallen on Me due to maybe some earthquake or some reason. He did not understand I only tumbled. He was asking Me, “How are You? What happened? Did it fall on You?” I said, “No, I only tumbled it!”

(03:46)

The idea… the other day I was reading a advertisement in newspaper about trekking. I asked one of My disciple, “What is this? What is this trekking classes? What do they teach?” He said, “Swamiji, here they teach you how to climb hills, all these things. That is what goes on in the trekking class.” I could not understand at all. I said, “I am a man. Here is a hill. Just climb, that's all.” And he says, “No, no, no. You can't do like that, Swamiji. It needs lot of lesson.” Just I couldn't understand. See, the mental setup of a yogi, the mental setup of a yogi. I can say, how you feel about your body and how you feel about your mind, the ideas which you carry about you, that is the ultimate thing, ultimate property of your life.

(04:51)

I am not saying don't accumulate wealth. See, wealth is needed to run your life. All I am saying, spend little time to create right idea about you and your body and your mind. Beautifully Patanjali talks about this Aparigraha and Asteya. Please understand, when you understand these ideas like Vairagya and start living, I am not saying, “Give up what you have. Don’t have car, don't have house, don't have wealth.” No, I am not saying. If I say also, people are going to give up Me, not that. I know it. I am very practical. If I say give up this, people are going to give up only Me. Anyhow, I am not saying that. All I am saying, have, just know that your body can do so much, your mind can do so much without many of the things which you think are important to you. That freedom is what I call ‘Guna vydrishnyam.’

(06:08)

Understand, I have never heard this idea ‘loneliness’ and all those things till I came to this country. Really. I lived in Indian villages for nine years, wandered length and breadth. Sometimes I wonder the ideas which we carry about ourself is the root cause of all suffering. The first thing we need to understand, the ‘Triputi’ does not have logical connection. The object and the experience which is created in the experiencer, all the three do not have logical connection. Sometime the same object which was giving you suffering can suddenly create joy. Sometime the same object which was giving joy can create suffering. Sometime for no reason you can be in joy. Sometime for no reason you can be in suffering. Sometime the object and the experience, both may be right but the experiencer will be in depression.

(07:30)

You can see, experienced and the experience, everything will be proper but the experiencer suddenly says ‘no’ to everything and you lock yourself in the room. You say, “I will come out after one hour. Don't disturb me now.” And you don't know why. You sit and try to analyze why, why, why, why, why. By the time you finish analyzing, the party is over! No, really. Many time you don't know how things take turn. See, sometime the object may be creating suffering. Sometime the experience may be creating suffering. Sometime the person, experiencer himself may be creating suffering. Sometime same way, I have seen people. They will be thinking constantly, “That experience, one thing I cannot go through.” If you are afraid of particular disease or the death of your near and dear one or some… somewhere the disrespect in some particular place, something you will be constantly brooding over, “If that happens I cannot survive. If that happens I cannot survive,” but suddenly you will see when that happens, you just walk out. You will just go through the whole thing in a very simple way.

(08:57)

Sufferings which you are constantly expecting will be a big pain or suffering will not be a suffering at all. Sufferings which you really think will not be a suffering, will not be a problem, may become to deep. So all you need to understand…. understanding, this one understanding can liberate you this moment. One understanding: there is no logical way the experiencer, experienced and experience is connected. This one understanding. With this one understanding, many things which you are thinking in your life will get re-altered, re-organised. You can see, I can give you hundreds and hundreds of examples. If you apply this one law, take this one law- guna vydrishnyam, this one idea from Patanjali, at least next ten days, work with this idea.

(10:09)

Whenever, whatever you go through, whether joy or suffering or anything you go through, just have this one law with you and read the whole incident with this one law. Understand, the whole thing happening inside you with this one law. You will have so many new, new understandings, clarity continuously happening in you. You can apply this one truth in different levels, in different levels. The experience… experience is not responsible for the experiencer and experienced. Experienced is not responsible for experience and experiencer. Experiencer is not responsible for experience and experienced. All three are independent and irresponsible, unconnected and unclutched. All three, if you try to create a logic, that logic is what I call ‘Maya’- ‘Yama iti maya.’

(11:26)

The logic does not exist but you constantly wanted to create a logic. You always think, “Oh! I was so happy with this person. I don't know suddenly why I am not happy. No, no, no. I think I should be happy.” You force and after two-three times you force and fail. Suddenly you think, “I think I am in depression. That is why, even this person is not able to create joy and excitement in me.” Now you complicated the whole complication. No, really! This is the way the complications gets built inside the system. This is the way we create more and more ideas.

(12:08)

You see, first thing when you create a logic which does not exist, then naturally what you do? You try to force that logic. You try to see that it becomes true. When it is not becoming true, then again more confusion, more problem. You try to find out why it is not, why it is that, why this way, why that way. Actually the more and more and more we question, why, why, why, we get only weird answers and out of that weird answers, we build more weird ideas and out of that weird ideas, we build… we take more weird decisions. Out of that weird decisions, if the life is happening, what is happening? What is happening? I have one more story about that.

(13:10)

A man was telling his friend, “My grandfather predicted in advance the very year in which he was going to die.” If you talk to your… if you are from Indian village, every village will have like this one or two couples who fixed the time and died. The grandfather dies immediately, grandmother will die. Of course, it is a great thing. Of course, here the story is not about that great thing. “He predicted the year in which he was going to die. What is more? He knew the exact month he was going to die, the precise day he was going to die, even the time of the day he was going to die and he was right on every account.” The friend says, “That is uncanny. How did he know all that? How did he know all that?” This guy says, “No, the judge told him!”

(14:27)

Understand, many times our whys, whys, why, why, why, you create only different, different, different kinds of answers and on that answers you build your life. Revise the whole thing with which you are building your life. Vivekananda says beautifully, “Flood your whole being with the truth. Whatever can be washed away, let it be washed away immediately. Whatever remains, let it remain.” Please understand, this is the greatest service you will do to yourself and to the world- flooding yourself with the truth. Reclaiming the Indian yogi inner software. Many people come and ask Me, “Swamiji, I want to serve our tradition.” Especially in this country, “I want to hold on to our tradition. I want to spread our Dharma. I want to stand for our Dharma.”

(15:36)

I tell them, “First thing, please understand, you drink the truth. You feel empowered by the truth. You feel filled by the truth. Just have the utility value of the Vedic inner software, utility value of the Vedic identity. You experience that utility value. Only then you will be able to… only then you will have courage to stand up for the Vedic truth. You will have energy to protect and serve. Otherwise I have seen these guys. They go on shouting, “We will protect Dharma, we will protect Vedic Dharma, we will protect Hinduism, we will protect Dharma.” They go on shout and create politics among themselves, that's all. See, when you don't have enemy to fight with others, what to do? Then fight with ourselves. I have seen, all the organizations which starts planning to protect Dharma without drinking the Dharma, without living the Dharma ends up in politics and killing themselves, killing themselves.

(16:45)

Beautifully Bhagavatam describes, the end of the Krishna's age, the whole… the place where he was living, the whole thing was destroyed and the whole thing went inside the ocean and all the gopas, they all killed each other. Beautifully the Bhagavatam describes, because these people did not drink the Dharma of Krishna, they only tried to protect. When you only try to protect, you are searching for enemy and when you don't find any enemy, you just start fighting with yourself. Please understand, first thing you need to do, flood your life with the truth. Flood your life with the understanding. Let you experience the strength, joy, bliss, created by this inner yogi software, inner vedic software- the idea which you carry about you and your mind. Let that be refined, deepened, strengthened.

(18:08)

Suddenly you will see, you will have so much of gratitude. Actually when that happens, you will have so much of gratitude for the Dharma. Even if you breathe, you will be protecting the Dharma. Even if you breathe, you will be protecting the Dharma. You will be protecting our tradition. You will be protecting the great culture. Without that, whatever we may be doing, whatever we may be doing, we will be ending up only in doing politics.

Wherever I go, this is a big problem. All the parents, they ask Me, “Swamiji, how to imbibe this culture, this value to our kids?” It is a big problem. I tell them, “Just you live and show this truth has enriched your life, this culture has enriched your life. That is the only way your kids are going to listen.” The big problem is, unfortunately the kids are more intelligent than you here. So they are not going to listen to our words. They are not going to listen to our verbal language. They are going to listen only to our body language. Other day, one NRI kid he was brought to Me by the mother. The mother was complaining, “Swamiji, please do something and tell him to listen to what I am saying.” I was little reluctant how to tell. Anyhow she convinced Me. She was forcing Me. Then I called that guy and said, “Why don't you listen to your mother? See, even I am listening.” This guy, he straightaway told Me, “Swamiji, she herself is not happy. If I listen to all her ideas I will also become depressed like her only.” No, true! Then I could not tell anything to him. True!

(02:00)

See, sometime verbal languages does not help. Verbal language will not help. Show in your life that you are a yogi. The yogic understanding has made you more joyful, rich, energetic, alive, active. That will naturally inspire them. That is the only way to inspire. That is the only way to inspire. We go on living what way we want and we hide everything or we think we hide everything because you can't hide from them. We think we hide everything and we insist… even transmitting…transmission of the tradition also does not happen in its fullest form, the path which we like them to follow or which has some of our own vested interest. Then naturally they know. They are more intelligent. They are more intelligent.

(02:57)

So be very clear, the one and only way to hold, to keep the whole thing alive, let you be enriched. Take little time. It takes little time, no other way. You have to study little bit of our tradition. You have to study some yogic scriptures. You have to listen to some of the spiritual satsangs and internalize. Internalizing takes little time and naturally when you internalize, your life will be enriched. That is the only way. That is the only solution. See, just like for everything you need to do little work, for this also you need to do little work. So the word guna vydrishnyam, this one understanding will enrich you. I can explain this one understanding from various angle. That is why I am giving you this as a Sutra.

(04:00)

Understand, the experience, experiencer, experienced- all three do not have a logical connection means the logical connections which you think they have. A particular object is supposed to create particular emotion in the subject, particular incident is supposed to create particular experience in a person. Please understand, this logic does not exist. This logic does not exist. I am cutting the very root. I am cutting the very root. This is the real understanding of vairagya. Vairagya should not be translated as detachment and it should not be practiced literally. When you practice detachment literally, it leads to more disturbances and suppressions and problems. It leads to more and more complications. I have one story for you:

(05:16)

A woman was overweight. So her doctor put her on a diet. “I want you to eat regularly for two days. Then skip a day and repeat the procedure for two weeks.” Understand this word. He says, “I want you to eat regularly for two days. Then skip a day and repeat the procedure for two weeks. Next time I see you, you will have lost at least five pounds.” But when the woman returned two weeks later, she had lost twenty pounds. The doctor was amazed. “Did you follow my instruction?” “Yes,” she said, “But I thought I was going to drop dead the third day.” This guy asked, “From hunger you mean?” She said, “No, from skipping.” When you literally follow, you are skipping, understand. When you literally follow, you are skipping.

(06:30)

Detachment, if the vairagya word is understood as a detachment and you start literally following, you create too many problems for you. Not only for you, you become a wrong example that nobody else wants to come and practice spirituality. I have seen, all the problems created for Vedic tradition is by the people who misunderstood and started following their wrong understanding just by skipping. Just like skipping. These guys are go on skipping. The people who want to come here they think, “Oh God! If I go, I also have to skip whole day,” and they just escape. Many time, many time people are skipping because somebody else is skipping. We skip spirituality because when we see people skipping continuously.

(07:30)

I have seen, especially among the youngsters, a big problem, “Oh! If I go there I may become Swami. If I go to spirituality I may become Swami. If I go to that, I may spend all my time there itself.” No! Please understand, it is a wrong idea. Wrong idea. The vairagya has to be understood properly. Vairagya has to be understood directly as transcending attachment and detachment. This one truth, constantly work with it. Internalize. Constantly internalize. The experience, experiencer and experienced does not have logical relationship. So no object can give the same joy or same suffering which I expect will give. The big problem is, if you expect a particular joy or suffering from a situation or a person or an object and if it does not happen, you start going on creating some complaints and complications inside. If it does not happen you are healthy. You are a healthy human being.

(09:04)

Please understand, if experience and experiencer, experienced are not logically having any relationship in your life, you are living healthy life. If they are all very logical and very clear, very stabilized way if they are going, something seriously wrong with your life. No really, something is seriously wrong with your life. Then either something is seriously wrong with the experiencer… experienced or the experiencer. So the same person may not create same emotion in you. Same emotion may not be created by the same object in you. Understand this truth- Guna vydrishnyam. So, the gunas, qualities created in your inner space, do not be attached to it. Do not be attached to it. Your attachment to those experiences which you go through inside is the root cause of all your suffering.

(10:30)

You see, why are you attached to some person? Because the security or the love you experience by that person. You are attached to your husband because of the security he creates in you. You are attached to the wife because the love she creates in you. Some guna. The big problem is, as long as you are attached to these guna, you will be constantly forcing that person to give you that experience. Without understanding the reality, no person can give you constantly the same experience. The person who gives you security, he will be sometime threat for you. The person who gives you the love, sometime he himself will be creating hatred in you. It is not the mistake of that person. It is a very quality of that reality, the very quality of the truth, it’s very existence. By it's own existence, there cannot be consistency in experience and the experiencer connection but you go on forcing the consistency. Then naturally she has to have the plastic smile; you have to have a plastic car. So everything becomes plastic!

(12:09)

Understanding the consistency is not the nature and when the other person is not delivering what you need, give the other person little space. Give space. Understand, he is too tired by you forcing yourself on him. She is too tired by you constantly nagging her. Understand and remember the consistency of delivering a same quality of experience by the same person is impossible. Maybe in the canned foods you can have consistent quality and purity and taste, not in living person. The canned food you read a word- we assure the quality and purity and taste consistently, because the chicken is already dead and it is packed, but even that, the object may be consistent but that cannot create a consistent experience in you. And here, the object is not only not dead, alive! Then how do you expect the consistency can be maintained?

(13:33)

Having this understanding Tat Param Purusha Kyathe Guna Vydrishnyam: neither by person nor by object or by situations, the same experience can be created in you. I am repeating the same idea in different, different, different, different, different words with different, different stories. I have decided I will drill this one idea into you today because this one idea can create so much of liberation. See, now I applied this idea with the relationship. Apply this same idea with money. Apply this same idea with your other things, whatever you think in your life is important. Apply with everything this one idea and wherever the consistency is not there, relax, wait. It is nature. It is truth. Five thousand years ago, Patanjali has clearly prophesied, clearly predicted, clearly giving us the solution, that is the nature. When you understand that is the nature, he says you have the knowledge of Self. This is the knowledge of Self. Knowledge of Self is the experience, experiencer, experienced do not have consistent relationship.

(15:11)

Sometime people become very possessive about even meditation. See, one day they would have had a deep experience in meditation. Then they start possessing that. They come and complain to Me, “Swamiji, day before yesterday with You I meditated and it was such a joyful thing. Yesterday I meditated in my house. It did not happen. How to maintain?” They start creating some complications. I tell them, “Understand, even with meditation, understand, it can never be consistent.” Please be very clear, if you do some particular technique and experience something, do not expect the same thing and start doing the same thing. I have seen, sometime when you read Vishnu Sahasranama early morning when you get up, just sit and listen to this beautiful Suprabhatam and start reading the Vishnu Sahasranama. Vishwam Vishnu vashat karo bhoota Bhavya bhavat Prabhuhu. Bhoot Atma... when you recite, you have a beautiful mood. That half an hour, you are in Vaikunta and you experience the peace, joy. Immediately that night you decide from next day, you are going to repeat all the thousand eight names everyday morning.

(16:38)

You see, understand, when you fix that everyday morning you are going to recite that thousand eight names in the morning, after two three days what will happen? You will pick up the book early morning you will get up with lot of irritation, wash the face and sit in the pooja room. Vishwam Vishnu vasatkaro Bhoota bhavya bhavat prabhuhu. Bhootatma.... After four-five minutes, you will be just waiting and seeing the side number. “Oh! I think I finished hundred and twenty. I have finished two hundred. I have finished three hundred.” Understand, don't create the quantitative check list. Do one thing. “I will recite as long as I feel comfortable, beautiful, blissful and that experience of Vaikunta.” Just recite ten names. Nothing wrong.

(17:29)

He is not sitting there and having bank balance. “Oh! Today this fellow recited only seven hundred names. Three hundred names he left and today he recited only hundred and eight. He was supposed to recite two thousand.” No, relax! He is not sitting there and having bank balance account. No, relax. Feel how beautifully.... understand, when you have the freedom as long as I feel beautiful, connected, comfortable, I will sit and recite. Each Mantra will have that joy and beauty more and more. You will continue to finish not only thousand eight, if you have time, if you have ten thousand eight, you will recite even ten thousand eight. Because now you are free, you are doing it out of freedom, not out of any bondage. Bondage happens when you think there is going to be consistency. The moment you think there is going to be consistency, you will order the same pizza everyday.

One story: Wife asked the husband, “Go and bring vegetable.” In India, we have the open market. Fresh, they go and bring vegetables. This guy goes, brings that ladies finger. She just checks. In the end they will break the edge and check whether it is riped or not. She started shouting, “It is over riped. Why did you bring?” Next day this guy goes and brings. “Oh! It is two young. It is less ripe. Why did you bring this kind of ladies finger?” Third day this guy, he begs that person who sells, “No, no, please do something. Give me the proper way, right condition.” The person helps. He is very happy. Today he thought he is going to be very successful. He brings the bag and keeps it. She says, “Fool! Three days continuously ladies finger?”

(01:24)

So this is where you will land if you are stuck with consistency. Consistency in your being will happen when you understand there is no consistency between these three. Then you will become a truthful being. Understand, truthful being. You will start living Satya. You will start living Satya. That is when the real vairagya happens to you. Real vairagya is not renouncing your house, bank balance or wife or relationships or all those things. Real vairagya is understanding that they cannot give you the same experience continuously consistently. So having little more expanded inner space even while they are not consistent, having patience, understanding it is truth. Let me be relaxed. This is what Patanjali calls it vairagya: transcending attachment and detachment.

(02:39)

Please understand, that is what Patanjali is trying to teach us by this word- Tatparam Purusha Kyate Guna Vydrishnyam So this one word, this one truth, you will see leads us to the ultimate experience. Many time we are caught with that restful awareness. As I was describing, three Gunas- Tamas, Rajas, Satva. Tamas is inertness, dullness, depression. We don't get attached to that usually. Then Rajas. Rajas means irritation, agitated stressful mood. We get attached to Rajas because Rajas pays our bills. Rajas brings pay cheque. That has a utility value. So sometime you get attached to it. Satva, the restful awareness you constantly hang for it. Here Patanjali says, do not hang for all these three qualities. Neither try to push them aside nor try to have them back.

(04:09)

When you constantly try to push depression aside, I have seen, these people who read all these kind of books-how to stop worrying, start living. All these kind of these positive thinking books, they have now one more worry- how to stop worrying. At least with worry, you have only ten worries. When you start reading all these books, now you have one more worry: how to stop worrying. So do not try to push aside your depression. Do not try to hold on to your joy. Please understand, joy, bliss happens to you when you are choiceless. When you choose joy, you already chosen suffering. See, joy is like if you keep your hands in the water in the river, the river is flowing. That is bliss. The moment you try to hold tightly you will have only empty hands. The bliss is flowing inside your being when you are relaxed. When you try to hold that bliss, then you have only empty being.

(05:17)

Do not try to push the depression away and it cannot stand in your inner space. Everything has to move. By your very nature, you are not attached to any gunas. You can see in your life. You can see in your life. One guy came to Me and asked Me, “Swamiji, I am suffering with fear of death with fear. Can you give Me some solution? Please understand, I am not making fun of you. I am really sympathetic and when I say, I am responsible for what I am saying. He came and asked Me, “Swamiji, I am suffering so much of fear. Can you give Me some solution?” I told him, “Just have a cup of coffee.” He said, “Cup of coffee? How can it solve my problem?” I asked, “How many thoughts can be in your inner space at one moment?” He said, “Only one.” Because any number of thoughts, only if this thought moves, next thought can come. If a next thought comes, this will push this thought and sit. How many number of thoughts you can have at a time? Fortunately only one. You cannot have two thoughts at a time. The second thought, even if it comes, it has to push the earlier thought and come and sit. Maybe microsecond, millisecond. That is different but at any given moment, point, you can have only one thought.

(07:00)

He said, “Only one thought, Swamiji.” I asked him, “The moment you wanted to have a cup of coffee, the moment you have a thought that you want to have a cup of coffee, can your death fear be with you at that moment? He looked into My eyes, “It cannot be. Right!” I asked him, “If somebody can push Me out of this seat and sit in this seat, naturally he is more powerful than Me.” He said, “Yes. That is true.” “For example, if you decided to walk, you renounce the thought of sitting. If you decided to sit, you renounced the thought of walking. Only if you renounce the earlier thought, this thought can come.” He said, “Yes.” “Then the moment you can have thought, ‘Let me have cup of coffee,’ the fear of death or the death fear has to move and give way for this thought.” He said, “Yes.” “It means what? Just the idea, thought, ‘Let me have cup of coffee,’ is more powerful than your fear of death!” He said, “It looks very logical but how can that be so simple?”

(08:40)

I asked him, “Come on, listen, listen slowly and very strongly, clearly. If a thought comes inside your inner space, ‘let me have a cup of coffee,’ can your fear of death be simultaneously coexist in that?” He said, “No, surely not.” “That moment it has to move out. So naturally a thought just to have a cup of coffee is more powerful than your fear of death.” “Yes, if I think let me have cup of coffee, this thought comes and that fear at least for that moment it is forgotten.” He had a big problem, “No, it comes back. What to do?” I told him, “Have one more cup of coffee.”

(09:32)

Understand. No, all I want you to understand, it is a very subtle point. It's a deep level of the Vedantic truth. I am trying to bring a very deep level of vedantic truth to an understanding and practical living. Very powerful truth, this truth is. He said, “Alright let me have one more cup of coffee. Then again if it comes back what to do?” Understand, all I want you to know, not continuously having cup of coffee. All I want you to understand, any simple thought can replace any big thought which you think as a big suffering. This proves constantly the thoughts are moving. One person came and asked Me, “Swamiji, I am suffering with sexual thoughts. I don't know how to control. Give me some solution.” I told him, “Just sit. Fifteen minutes meditate on those thoughts. Fifteen minutes fill your mind with the fantasies. Let Me see.” That guy after five minutes opened the eyes and said, “Swamiji, my mind is wandering here and there. It is not settling with one thought.” I said, “What is going on? You only came with a complaint, ‘I am filled with fantasies,’ and now you say your mind is not able to meditate on fantasies.”

(11:05)

So understand the basic truth. By your very nature, all these trigunas flows over your being like a breeze. So do not fight with the depression. Do not try to hold on to the joy or peace. Neither try to fight, nor try to hold on. Just be very clear. All these things are continuously moving. They can never be consistent on your being. Inconsistency is the only consistent thing. Change is the only unchanging thing. Your being, by it's very nature is pure. Constantly that is why all these things are moving just like in this screen. So many scenes are appearing in this screen but the screen is never affected, never touched.

(12:06)

Understand, the Param Purusha, Tatparam Purusha, the Patanjali… what Patanjali calls the Tatparam Purusha is a pure screen. If this screen tries to hold on to Me, My form, it will struggle because in one hour I will go away. Somebody else will be sitting and they will be projected or nobody will be there. It will be empty. So if the screen tries to hold on to My form, it will create suffering for itself. Same way, if the screen does not like Me, it is going to be suffering now. Whether it likes Me, wants to hold on to Me or does not like, just wanted to get away from Me, it is going to create suffering. So you are Tatparam Purusha. You are Tatparam Purusha. You are a consciousness where these trigunas blow like a breeze where this inertness, depression and restlessness, irritation, restful awareness, peace, all these three flows like a breeze individually or mixed way or all the three in a different proportion.

So be very clear, the only thing you need to understand is, do not be attached or detached with these three qualities. Don't fight with them and don't try to hold on to them. You will see, you are relaxed in the state of Tat Param Purusha. Internalize this one idea. Experienced, experience and experiencer do not have consistent responsible relationship. There is no agreement to deliver. There is no expiry date, agreement between these three. Please understand, in every agreement, below there will be fine print. Same way, in this agreement also there is a fine print below: The delivery may not be consistent. The same object may not deliver same experience. When you made an agreement with the world, when you took birth, there is a fine print in that agreement you forgot to read. Reminding you that fine print is what Patanjali is trying to do.

(14:52)

That home owners’ insurance, there will be fine print: The flood is not covered. Same way, here when you land in the world, you are taught, this brings this experience, this brings this experience. The below fine print you forgot to read. The experiences with the objects, persons, situations may not be consistent. So I am here to remind you what Patanjali wants you to understand. Let you understand this great truth and I am repeating the sloka, sutra once more for you: Tatparam Purusha Kyathe Guna Vydrishnyam Withdrawing from desires through the conscious visualization of one’s innerspace is the higher state of awareness. So internalize this one idea. Understand the inconsistency and the drama happening in your inner space and the outer space. Have enough space to understand. You don't even need to practice this idea. Just understand it is inconsistent. This is the way it will be. Suddenly you will see this understanding will erupt whenever you needed... when you need and whenever you need, this understanding will come up and guide you. Let you all carry this truth, internalize this truth, live this truth, achieve and radiate Jeevan Mukti, Living Enlightenment. Let you all you and radiate the Eternal Bliss- Nithyananda Thank you
