Title

Tiruchendur Subramaniya Swami Temple Visit

Description

Thiruchendur Murugan Temple, also called Jayanthipuram, is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Murugan Swamy situated in Thiruchendur, Tamil Nadu. It marks the site of the battle where Murugan Swami conquered the demon Soorapadman. Soorasamharam, a reenactment of the victory over Soorapadman, and Kanda Shasti, a devotional song in praise of Lord Muruga are performed at the temple. The main deity, or moolavar, is Murugan as a saintly child, portrayed in a granite carving. In early 2018, HDHPN visited the temple to pay His respects to Murugan Swami.
