In the Valmiki Ramayana, Balakanda, 75th and 76th Sarga, Sri Ramachandra meets Sri Parashurama. During the encounter, Sri Parashurama acknowledges Sri Ramachandra as the next Avatar of Maha Vishnu and hands over the mantle of Avataric mission - the Vishnu Dhanus - that He was holding till then, to Sri Ramachandra.
In the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa identified Swami Vivekananda as an incarnation and transfered His whole of Avataric energy to Swami Vivekananda as a mark of handing over the mantle of Avataric mission to Swami Vivekananda.
In the life of Yogi Ram Surat Kumar, direct representation of Arunachaleshwara , identified His Divine Holiness Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam as the Avatar of Paramashiva and as His heir in the unbroken lineage of the Jnanis who directly represent Arunachaleshwara thereby handing over the mantle of the Direct Living Representatives of Arunachaleshwara to His Divine Holiness Swamiji.
