Prema Bhakti - The Ultimate Path: Nithyananda Morning Satsang (10 Nov 2010) Message
Description:
Paramahamsa Nithyananda has been talking about different dimensions of Bhakti (devotion). He was talking about the Sacred Sentiments, Bhakti, from different dimensions and angles. Today he talked about the important part of Bhakti: Sacred Sentiments. Surely you can't reduce it by verbalizing. Even Paramahamsa Nithyananda said he can't verbalize what is the great ecstatic Prema Bhakti. He said maybe he can inspire us all and share a few techniques and definitions, so he wanted to make it very clear, he was not defining Prema Bhakti only giving us techniques.
So take it as inspiration, it is too sacred. He read a beautiful poem by Akkamahadevi: Like treasure hidden in the ground Taste in the fruit Gold in the rock Oil in the seed The absolute is hidden away in the heart No one can know the ways of Chennamallikarjuna
One of the Prema bhaktas, this poet lived like a child in ecstasy. It is hidden so deeply you can't sing about it. He said her sentiments are so simple, why not just say it with a few words? Why in a big poem? Because it is too much. When you are possessed with that experience, anything you do is poetry. So she has to tell something so she expresses her extraordinary ecstasy. When you are in Bhakthi, you don't possess Bhakthi, Bhakthi possesses you. Not like something in your house. Bhakti will own you. If you think you own it, it is only managed Bhakti.
When Bhakti owns you, it is Prema Bhakti.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda mentioned that at times he liked to avoid the subject by smiling. That's what he does when the subject is too much. How do you explain the word, "in the heart of the devotee like honey oozing out." You can't explain, either you experience it or not. He laughed and said most people, upon hearing a phrase like "honey oozing out of the heart" will need a bypass operation. Sometimes singing about Bhakti becomes dangerous. Paramahamsa Nithyananda said bhaktas are aliens, they don't belong to this planet. Some non-mechanical parts of the brain get awakened. Once awakened many can't even talk to the common man. He has devotees who can't go to parties and talk about anything else. They have nothing in common with regular people, because of their extreme ecstasy. It is only the ecstasy which can sing. For Prema Bhakti explanation not possible, the only experience is possible, maybe.
Even Paramahamsa Nithyananda said how his eyes expand when he utters these words. How his throat chokes when he sings, the joy his body expresses, and the courage his being radiates with these great words, Sacred Sentiments. He hoped he could transmit this experience to the gathering of BSP attendees, Bhakti Spurana Progam. That is the only reason he goes on singing, talking every morning. Otherwise, there is no other way or reason why so many words should be used to sing about something that can never be sung, never be explained.
