One thing, be very clear. From the beginning, you are so much conditioned to do things. Now you started doing so many things you do not know how to stop it. So all your meditation is only helping you to learn how to stop doing things. Actually you are continuously doing something. So meditation is just going to help you to stop doing all these things. If you can really stop, immediately you will become Enlightened. But you are habituated, conditioned so much to do, you do not know how to stop.

So I add little acid which is called meditation to make you stop doing. Ananda Spurana is continuously happening, ma. You are stopping it. I request you to stop the stopping process. You don’t have to create ananda spurana. Ananda spurana is happening. All you do in the ananda spurana day, that two days program is, all you do is you are stopping the stopping process of stopping the ananda spurana. You are continuously stopping it. For the two days, through all these meditations, I tell you not to stop it, that’s all! So you are really relaxing when you meditate.

Q: Is it the same as samskaras?
 +

(02:44)

Swamiji: Yes, samsara, samskara all one and the same. Samsara creates samskara; samskara creates samsara. Samskara wants samsara; samsara creates samskara. And it is like a doctor wants medical shop; medical shop wants doctors. Now you wrote down the miseries?

Sit straight. No, just close your eyes. And don’t think them as miseries. They are miseries as long as you want something else. When you do not want the other, opposite of that, they are just life. That is your life. You make life as a miserable, as a misery by wanting something else. Something else is always death. If it is something else than your life, it is just death. Why do you want death in life? Only when you want death in life, you start suffering. Respect the life as it happens to you, as it is.

Take few minutes. Remember one by one all the ten problems and just feel, ‘Let it be as it is. This is the way it is. That is the way it will be. Relax, just relax.’ For few minutes decide, ‘just this half an hour, I will not try to change.’ When you go out, you can do all your other games. This half an hour, decide, ‘I am not going to change anything. I will accept as it is.’ If you feel you are not able to accept, accept at least that. ‘I am not able to accept.’ Even that much acceptance is okay. If you can accept, accept it. If you are not able to, then accept that I am not able to accept.

Let all the external sufferings and internal sufferings be as it is. Whether it is external conflict or internal conflict, let it be there... It becomes conflict only when you have, only when you want something else, only when you have other choices. Decide clearly for this next half an hour, ‘I am not going to struggle internally or externally. Whatever problems are there in the outer world, in the inner world, let it be there. For only next half an hour, I am not going to struggle. I decide I will relax. Whatever is in the outer world or in the inner world, let them all be there.’ Don’t fight with your thoughts. Don’t fight with your mind. If your mind is chaotic, accept that, don’t fight with it. Let it be chaotic. If possible, create some more chaos. Then it will become silent. Give some more difficulties and complications. It will simply become silent.

Listen here. First listen, then you can do. Write ten main points which is making your life as a misery. If you have no point, don’t start worrying about that. Be happy about it. I have seen people who start worrying, ‘O, I have no point, what to do?’ You are already in the happiness. Why do you bother then? Be blissful, that’s all. You see, if you don’t have ten points means you are already in acceptance. It is not that you don’t have problem, you DON’T have problem! You don’t have the mind which creates problem. You are blessed. You are happy. Just enjoy. Just drop from joy to joy, bliss to bliss. over! Just write ten points and then, only for next 24 hours decide strongly you will accept it as it is. You will accept the ten points as they are without expecting as you wanted it to be: just for 24 hours! Write first ten points. It’s okay, your inner qualities can be transformed only by acceptance. Whether it is inner point or outer point-both one and the same, write.

(02:00)

I have always seen people who got married, they write ‘marriage is a problem.’ People who have not married, again they write ‘marriage is a problem.’ You always write opposite thing because you are attracted towards the opposite because you have not seen that. You see, whatever you have not seen, you are attracted to that: whatever it may be. If you have not seen that, you are attracted to it. If you are with full of money, you are attracted towards simple life. Simple life means the life without responsibility. If you don’t have money, you are attracted towards the rich life. Whatever you don’t have, you are attracted towards that. That attracts you.

(02:51)

Paramahamsa is a man who has experienced everything. Ramakrishna says, “A man who has experienced everything, who doesn’t want to have any more experiences, nothing attracts him. He is the person who is Paramahamsa.” Actually if you are living this way, you start thinking, ‘Others are all living that way. Why not me like that? But that guy is thinking you are living like this. Why not like this? A thinks, “Why not my life be like a B?”. B thinks, “Why not my life be like a A?” You may share all with your friends. You share all your sufferings. They say, “Arey! you are much better. Listen my story.” And you feel the... You tell them, “No, no, no. You are much better than this story.” You have some story... You finished writing?

(04:04)

Your life is just a beautiful breeze, but the moment you put this side some pillar, that side some pillar, that side some pillar and try to hold that breeze, the whole thing has become mess… Life is just happening. Let it happen. Let it flow. Let it move. Why should we put it should be this way, it should be that way. Just relax. The moment you relax, I tell you, you will become more responsible because you will start working from different dimension. You will start working from 360 degree. As long as you choose, you will be working only for what you have chosen, what you have chosen. Only when you drop from the choices, you will start working in all the multi-dimensions.

(05:15)

People ask Me, “How do you play that multi-dimensional game, Swamiji? You have so many dimensions. As a teacher, as a caretaker for the group of these ashramites, as a counsellor for so many thousands of devotees’ problems, as a healer and so many thousands of dimensions, so many dimensions.” People ask Me, “How will you play? With this so many dimensions, we will become mad. We can’t even imagine a man can play so many dimensions.” The moment I sit in the throne, I give boons like a God, “I’ll take care. Don’t worry” -Abhaya and Varada. The moment I come down, play like a child, tease the people, play like a child. So many different dimensions. How? Just because I don’t have a choice. I have no choice. So I play the whole thing, whole game.

(06:23)

Simple understanding: Death is liberation. Let us play as long as. The moment death comes, over. Liberated, over! What is there? We don’t have responsibilities anymore. We don’t have to bother who will think about what, who will think what about us. Nothing to bother. Relax. Now all your worries are why? Why, what is the reason you have so many worries, tell Me. Your food, your survival and what people will think about you-the social respect. Main, social respect: what others will think about you. All these things are your headache. Why? Because you are alive. If you pass away, you are free from all these headaches. Why don’t you understand death is a greatest liberation? Actually when it becomes too much, God says all right, now let you rest. It’s a big liberation.

(07:39)

The moment you understand death is a liberation, life becomes celebration. Then you don’t bother now. Even if some people think something about us, what is there? What is there? Is there any problem? No! Let them think. I am going to be here for seventy five years. All of you are sure average seventy five years we all stay here. So I have decided I will be here for hundred and twenty eight years. So when I decided, so play the game, that’s all! For hundred and twenty eight years, whatever games you want to play, play the game, over! Enjoy... just decide. First thing, decide, ‘Let me live happily.’ Everything else is secondary. All the other things, you can sacrifice anything for happiness but never the ananda for anything. Sacrifice anything for ananda but never ananda for anything. Sacrifice the dharma, sacrifice artha, sacrifice the kama for moksha. Sacrifice all your nonsensical concepts of morality, duty, responsibility, all these bullshit. Sacrifice all your concept of dharma, sacrifice all your concept of artha, sacrifice all your concept of kama for this one: ananda. Simply you will see all the three follows you. It’s not that you will sacrifice them, it is not that you will be out of them but you will not be internalising them. You will not give up your ananda for that sake.

(09:37)

It’s not that I don’t handle money. It’s not that I have everything but I am quite happy. Just a small cognitive shift! A simple cognitive shift: you are not bound, death is a big liberation. When you say life is suffering, then why do you hate death? Be relaxed. If you say life is celebration, then enjoy! Why do you bother about death? If you say life is suffering, then why do you bother about death? Don’t bother. If you say life is bliss, enjoy, that’s all! Both the way things are clear. But we make mess, we make mess, we make mess.

(10:37)

Q: But the guilt feeling is always there.

(10:41)

See, the guilt will always be there whatever you do. Even after your death, you will start feeling guilty, ‘I thought my son will take care and wrote the will on his name. Now I am seeing only my daughter is coming and cleaning my samadhi, what to do? Only my daughter built me the granite samadhi. See, this fellow took away all the money and went away to some other city.’ You will have the guilt even after death. It is simply a conscious choice to be little more intelligent. Just be little more intelligent. That is what I call cognitive shift. Cognitive shift is nothing but be little more intelligent. Be little more intelligent.

(11:28)

I know, we always say, “Practically it is too much, Swamiji. We can’t handle.” Just a simple understanding of this cognitive shift, of this cognitive shift. There is nothing to bother. As long as we live here, live happily and don’t bother anything. Don’t bring big, big words into your life. First of all, don’t have some rigid structure as dharma. Don’t have rigid structure-my house should be like this, my family should be like this, my life should be like this. The moment you have a rigid frame, structure, wherever you are, you live only in the hell. The moment you become liquid, when you are there, be totally there; when you are here, be totally here. Wherever you are, just be liquid. Then you will see, you will not have any suffering. All suffering comes because of rigidness. Rigidness is what I call ego.

(12:46)

Don’t support your rigidness with some dead words called scriptures. There are so many scriptures which acts like a steel rod to make your liquid being as a solid RCC. The moment you insert dead words, your liquid being becomes a solid RCC. Don’t insert the guilt. Guilt is the steel rod. Your liquid being will become RCC concrete, the moment you insert the guilt. Just be like a river. Just flow. Don’t have a rigid structure. Just start living chaotically, nothing else. Be as wild as possible. Just start living chaotically. Don’t have any so-called rigid structure how life should be. You will see that you are already liberated.

(14:00)

The main definition for ‘Paramahamsa’ is a man who lives in chaos and creates chaos continuously around him; wWho is in tune with chaos, who loves chaos, goes on creating chaos around him. Chaos is his presence; his presence is chaos. He is just chaos. Actually the Paramahamsa Upanishad says, ‘pishach avastha, balaka avastha, preta avastha.’ Don’t question the chaos. Just start creating chaos. You also become an insider. Then whole problem is solved. I tell you, as long as you question the God, “Why God is so partial? Why so many karmas? Why Sunami? Why this? Why that? Why somebody is rich? Why somebody is poor? Why so much of difference in ...when they have that right, why not me have that right? When they are always around You, why can’t I be around You?” So many nonsense you ask.

(15:17)

As long as you are asking, there will be nobody to even answer. Have you got the answer? You can go on shouting. The ant is shouting, ‘Why this poor elephant is black? I am also black, this elephant is also black. How can God paint this elephant in black colour-my colour? It’s my copyright. How can this elephant be black?’ But elephant will not even know you are shouting. Like this same way only your life. You also live in the same way. You go on question, ‘Why this? Why this? Why this?’ There is nobody to answer. The chaos will be there. Just only one secret you should know. Just become the centre of the chaos and start creating chaos. Just become an insider. You will become God who creates the chaos. No, that is what Bible says. Have you read the Bible? First there was chaos. Then God created the world. Then on the seventh day, he rested into chaos again so that he can continuously go on creating the chaos. If you are afraid of chaos, means you have created a rigid structure, you have created a rigid structure about the life. Life should be like that. The other person is person should be like that.

(17:04)

One person came and asked Me, told Me, “Swamiji, I don’t even have fantasies and imagination about my wife but she is not responding. Even I don't have fantasies. She is not understanding me. She is not accepting me. She is withdrawing herself from me.” Again that she should not withdraw herself from you is also a fantasy. Your expectation that she should understand you is also a fantasy. That is the one more fantasy. That is the one more concept. You have rigid frames. It is time, relax! To relax from the rigid frames. You don’t need to do anything, just relax. Trust that relaxation can happen in you.

(18:10)

We have one more doubt. ‘Now Swami says it is all okay. I can relax but I don’t know afterwards again I become same old personality. What to do, Swamiji? Again I become a same old personality. Again the whole thing comes back, What to do, Swamiji?’ Trust yourself. You can transform your life. When you can transform this moment, when you can feel the transformation and relaxation in this moment, why not next moment?

Q: Actually we have been conditioned to think to be relaxed we are…

(02:04)

Swamiji: You see, now you know you have been conditioned to think if you relax, nothing will happen, something wrong. You know it is a conditioning. That’s why you say we have been conditioned that relaxation is something wrong. When you know it is a conditioning, drop now.

(02:22)

Q: There is a kind of always...

(02:27)

Swamiji: Nothing is wrong in being relaxed. What is wrong? I am the greatest lazy man. Look at here, utterly relaxed. And you say, ‘Ah! there are so many people who take care of you. You can afford laziness, we can’t afford.’ No! I started becoming lazy. Only then people started taking care of Me. Never it is other way, never it is other way. You think, ‘Let people come and take care of Me, then I will become lazy.’ No! Just start, then things will follow. You are trying to put the cart in front of the bullock, cart in front of the bullock. No! Just relax. Let the cognitive shift happen. Things will start happening in you.

(03:23)

And I tell you, total acceptance is respect to life. That is what I say ‘surrenderfulness.’ Not just surrender: surrendering to Me is very easy. Surrender to each and every living being. Surrender to whole life, surrender to whole life. Let whatever wants, let it happen. You think, ‘If I surrender, people will start torturing me.’ Let them torture you. That is what is Tapas. That is what I call Tapas. Any extreme let them go. Surrender, relax. Relax, surrender. The surrenderfulness can transform your whole life. The moment you decide to be in surrenderfulness, the divine happens in your life. Surrenderfulness, relaxing or experiencing the death is a liberation is what I call cognitive shift. From mithya to Nithya, from mithya to Nithya. In Nithya mental set-up, in Nithya mentality, as long as you are here, happy. Life is a celebration, enjoy. The moment death comes, you say, ‘Enough, life is suffering. Let me go and relax.’

(05:02)

Actually in the young age, have you heard a story? In the elementary school, they teach a story. There was a big grapes garden and the wolf or fox? There was a fox which came and tried its best. It was not (0:15) Trust yourself. You can transform your life. Relax and start cherishing the moments in which you feel the peace and the transformation. Instead of counting the moments of problems, you see, ten times you may do a mistake. ten times you may live with understanding. Even this dropping the imagination, if you do a homework, simple homework, write ten time when you dropped imagination and did not create problems. Write ten time when you had imagination and created problems. You would have both in your life but you give more emphasis on your failures instead of your successes.

(01:15)

Understand, you have really succeeded so many times in so many ways. Cherish the moments of your success. Live the moments of your success. When you have succeeded in so many moments, can’t you succeed in other few moments? Simply it can... happen, trust yourself and relax, nothing else! Simply the cognitive shift will start happening. Just be, just a little more energy to relax.

(01:58)

able to get the grapes. Then the fox started shouting, ‘I think these grapes are very sour.’ It ran away. It is an intelligent fox. It knows how not to internalise the failures. It is a very intelligent fox. It knows how not to internalise the problems. It has got tremendous acceptance. That mentality is what I call Nithya. Listen from this one story, over! When you don’t get, say it is sour, over! You are relaxed, you are liberated. When you have it, even it is sour, so tasty, you see, so tasty. when you have it, enjoy. The moment you don’t have it, say it is dirty, sour and liberate yourself, and liberate yourself, over! Just little bit of intelligence. Simple technique. You should meditate on that fox. Just meditate on that fox. Fox coming, trying to catch the grapes, it is not able to get, then it says, ‘No, no, these grapes are sour, bad.’ Just the simple thing, nothing else. All great things which you need to learn is already told to you only in the wrong way.

(07:06)

Now I am commenting on even your elementary school lessons, not only on Shiva Sutras, on your rhymes also I am commenting. I am bringing them back to new life, hmm. I am throwing new light on your school lessons also. Commentaries on elementary school lessons, bhashyas on elementary school lessons because that is where the corruption starts. So I think better I should comment on all the stories of elementary school. All the stories have got such wonderful truth and you are always taught that fox is wrong guy, jealous but understand, such a great value is there, such wonderful truth is existing. You have always taught that fox is wrong, fox is wrong but the fox is the only right guy! If you know just the technique to live like that fox, over! Whole life is joy... Meditate on that fox and get enlightened! Liberate yourself from the problems. So just be little more intelligent. Thank you, next question.

(08:41)

Q: Instead of escapism, if we try to…

(08:45)

Swamiji: Even if we escape, what is the wrong? What is the wrong with escapism?

(08:51)

Q: That means we are trying to escape from our duty. Again we feel guilty.

(09:06)

Swamiji: Even if we escape from commitments, what is the wrong?

(09:12)

Q: We will become anarchist in society.

(09:16)

Swamiji: That is what I tell you, create. You see, one thing. All your ideas about commitment, all your ideas about all these things is not going to help you. Understand, all your words, commitment, all these things again you have some rigid structure. Any rigid structure is not going to liberate you, any rigid structure. One more thing, you think that just because you come away from the society just because you escape, you think the whole society will become anarchy? whole society is going to become anarchy?

(10:01)

Q: At least I have contributed something wrong.

(10:06)

Swamiji: To that? So you think that now because of you, you are contributing something right?

(10:16)

Q: Sometimes Swamiji, we may have to do something so as to not hurt somebody who is very close.

(10:21)

Swamiji: Then okay, do it. Just enjoy. You are not hurting him because he will not hurt you, so that he will not hurt you. Not even not to hurt them, so that they will not hurt us. It is a agreement.

(10:37)

Q: The trick is just to accept that?

(10:41)

Swamiji: No, be very clear. You are doing that so that you will be happy. You are doing it for your happiness.

(10:47)

Q: No, you may feel happy doing certain...something but then in order not to hurt the person who is close to you, you may have to compromise on that.

(10:58)

Swamiji: Okay, if you compromise, what for you compromise? So that he will not hurt you. You compromise and do that not to hurt him so that he will not hurt you in some other way. Am I right? You see, you don’t want to hurt him, why? You just told you will be good to him. You will be good to him.

(11:23)

Q: He is very close to me.

(11:24)

Swamiji: Okay, you love him. If he is hurt, you will feel little disturbed.

(11:29)

Q:Yes.

(11:31)

Swamiji: You will feel disturbed. So you are not hurting him so that you will not feel disturbed. Am I right?

(11:38)

Q: Is it right to do that?

(11:39)

Swamiji: Perfectly alright. So you are doing it for your happiness.

(11:43)

Q: But at that time you will feel you have sacrificed something for that person’s sake.

(11:48)

Swamiji: Then understand, you are not sacrificing, you are not sacrificing. You are doing it for your own happiness. Then you will not now feel that you are sacrificing. That’s all!

(12:00)

And one thing. The person who has got, who feels he has got responsibility never does his responsibility because he is just locked. His mind is not free and the man who liberates himself...I think yesterday’s discourse, I was...selling time, selling product, all these things, selling time, all these things are commitments. Escaping, actually the escaping word itself is condemning word. That is why in India we have beautiful word-’Paramahamsa’. Any moment you can become parivrajaka. That is why in India, suicide rate is so less and depression is so less. Any moment you can become vagabond. You are respected, you are respected. In the West, you are called homeless. In the East you are called Vasudaiva Kutumbakaha. In the West, if you have dropped out from the society, you are called hippie-long hair, hippie and homeless. In the East, if you drop out of the society, you are called ‘Paramahamsa’ and your whole world as your home - ‘sadhu’, whole world as your home.

(13:30)

And one more thing, when you really escape, the cognitive shift happens, the big cognitive shift happens in you. You become totally responsible, totally responsible. You have seen in your life lakhs of people. Be honest, have you seen anybody who is more responsible than Me? In My age, have you seen Me anybody who is more responsible? Let you be honest. You are very clear, hmm? I am responsible person? Now I will tell you the formula. Escape!... Now I give you the path, escape! This is the formula. You will become such a beautiful, responsible, person, not only for you, whomsoever comes in front of you, you will start feeling responsible for them. How do you think healing happens?

(14:31)

Q: Swamiji, You have tremendous compassion.

(14:33)

Swamiji: That happens only when you escape. Escapism is one of the main ingredient for the alchemy to happen. You see, if you want to purify the gold, you are supposed to add some...what to say...that...very,,,acids which creates very...which creates worst effects on you, which is poison. Arsenic acids you are supposed to add. If you have an idea, ‘Oh, this acid is arsenic. How can I add that into the gold? It has to be purified. This gold is 22 carat. It has to become 24 carat. I should add only milk and the ghee and butter which is good things, not the arsenic acid,’ Will the gold be purified? So for the gold to become pure, you need to add only that stuff. So escapism is… you understand escapism as a poison-just like arsenic acid but that is the greatest, that is the only purifier, the greatest purifier which can purify you. Now for the alchemy, you need to add that. What to do? Will you say, ‘No, no. I will add only milk. I will pour only ghee, I will pour only Panchamrita and do the...I will wait for the gold to become pure,’ will ever it happen? No, pour the acid. That is the only way for cleaning it, purifying it.

(16:17)

So be very clear. This compassion happens to you only when you drop. How do you think healing happens? The moment they come in front of Me, I feel responsible. I feel responsible for their pain. First of all, understand, compassion itself happens only when I feel responsible. I feel it. Why I feel responsible for everyone? Because I dropped the small ‘i’ responsibility. Commitment of small ‘i’, duty of the small ‘i’, responsibility of the small ‘i’, if it is dropped, simply something happens in you. You take the responsibility of big ‘I’, commitment of big ‘I’, the duty of the big ‘I’ comes up on you. You expand.

(17:12)

Q: So even if you take commitments, you will not be…

(17:15)

Swamiji: Bound. And one thing, only when you drop, you will not be violent. As long as you think you have a duty, you will be violent towards your children. When you work for them, when you create wealth for them, you wanted them to act as you want. You force them, you say, ‘Arey! For you guy I have worked. I have done all these things. Do as I want.’ You force them. You want them to do as you want. So all your idea of duty, commitment is nothing but the expression of your violence and it will lead to violence. From violence to violence.

(18:00)

Now it is time to escape you and liberate your- so-called people to whom you are committed or the so-called people to whom you think you are committed. Escape and liberate them. When you escape, they are liberated. They also will forgive you. You also will escape from them. So drop out. You will see a new ‘I’ is happening in you, new ‘I’ is happening in you. I say, ‘Break as a seed, the tree will sprout,’ but you say, ‘No, no, no. Let the tree sprout, only then I will break as a seed.’ Tree can never happen unless the seed breaks. Can the tree happen unless the seed breaks? No! Understand, the moment you understand death is a liberation, life becomes celebration! You start living intensely because the new energy has come. The cognitive shift has happened in you. When the new energy comes, be very clear, the cognitive shift has happened in you.

(01:03)

So I add little acid which is called meditation to make you stop doing. Ananda Spurana is continuously happening, ma. You are stopping it. I request you to stop the stopping process. You don’t have to create ananda spurana. Ananda spurana is happening. All you do in the ananda spurana day, that two days program is, all you do is you are stopping the stopping process of stopping the ananda spurana. You are continuously stopping it. For the two days, through all these meditations, I tell you not to stop it, that’s all! So you are really relaxing when you meditate.

(01:52)

Q: Tremendous conditioning has gone in. So much of unlearning...

(01:57)

Swamiji: When you know so much of unlearning is required, when you know the tremendous conditioning has gone in, just drop.

(02:05)

Q: Vasanas, Swamiji

(02:07)

Swamiji: Ha, again, when you know it is vasanas, drop! Drop it. Drop it, that’s all. Just drop it.

(02:24)

Q: Only thing is that intelligence is required.

(02:28)

Q: and practice.

(02:29)

Q: What are vasanas?

(02:31)

Swamiji: Hmm, vasana? Don’t think perfume. Vasana means the old mental set ups, hangovers.

(02:41)

Q: Is it the same as samskaras?

(02:44)

Swamiji: Yes, samsara, samskara all one and the same. Samsara creates samskara; samskara creates samsara. Samskara wants samsara; samsara creates samskara. And it is like a doctor wants medical shop; medical shop wants doctors. Now you wrote down the miseries?

(03:09)

Sit straight. No, just close your eyes. And don’t think them as miseries. They are miseries as long as you want something else. When you do not want the other, opposite of that, they are just life. That is your life. You make life as a miserable, as a misery by wanting something else. Something else is always death. If it is something else than your life, it is just death. Why do you want death in life? Only when you want death in life, you start suffering. Respect the life as it happens to you, as it is.

(04:20)

(05:19)
