In today’s biographical talk, His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam discusses the wisdom of Lord Buddha and Shankaracharya, who spent their lives in continuous wandering. As they engaged intensely in radiating compassion to the world, they each chose to teach in areas where they were unknown and were met with suspicion and hostility. Shankara taught that spiritual seekers should not remain in the same village for longer than three days, because they might become stagnant and lazy. His Divine Holiness followed this counsel in his travels, and recommends that all of us can benefit from the same advice. We should keep ourselves in a challenging environment which will tax us to transform ourselves into enlightened beings.
