Early in the morning of Jan 1st Swamiji was led in a procession from His quarters to the sacred Banyan tree under which is seated 'Sri Ananda Eashwar', the Dakshinamurthy deity. Swamiji offered Arathi to Dakshinamurthy. Swamiji then offered arathi to Sri Ananda Nataraja, the dancing deity in the Ananda Sabha. Later Aadheenavasis offered Guru puja to Swamiji. Governor of Maharashtra and his wife and Sri N Dharam Singh, Hon. Chief Minister of Karnataka and his wife. Sri Sri Sri Sivapuri Maha Swamiji of the Omkarashrama Mahasamsthana honored the occasion by lighting the lamp, Sri SM Krishna inaugurated the Sri Nithyananda Meditation and Spiritual Healing Research Foundation. He also gave away the 'Ananda Sevak' awards. Sri Sri Sri Sivapuri Maha Swamiji formally released the monthly Tamil magazine 'Anandam Anandam' at the public function. A few Kannada books and a Gujarati book were also released. Later all the dignitaries took part in laying the Foundation stones for the new Ananda Sabha, the Gurukul Project.
