A close crowd photograph at a KAILASA event. In the foreground a bearded man in a plain white shirt holds up a sheet of ruled paper with his fingers and looks toward the right. Behind him a woman in a red and yellow garment with a bindi stands among other devotees in red, orange and yellow clothing. At the left edge a hand with red and multicoloured bangles reaches toward a head. On the right a figure with dark hair wears a beaded rudraksha-style necklace and a gold-bordered white garment. The background is blurred with more people and warm lighting.2015-07-26August 30 20112011-08-30July 26 20152015-07-26Close photograph of a hand receiving or offering a folded white cloth, as in a Guru Purnima bhiksha exchange. Two blurred hands are visible: one wearing a gold bangle, the other in a white sleeve. The wearer of the gold bangle sits in a brown garment. Behind them, blurred gold-toned objects. The image is taken from close range and the figures are only partly visible.2013-07-22September 04 20112011-09-04 +1 copiesA crowded indoor gathering of devotees seen in close view. In the foreground, a woman with a white vertical tilak and red bindi wears a red sari and a dark beaded mala, looking to the side. Beside her, a young girl with a small bindi looks up and speaks. At right, a man with grey-streaked hair and a salt-and-pepper beard wears a light striped shirt and a white identity badge, raising a hand. Behind them, more women and devotees fill the space, and a white paper is held up at the lower left edge.2015-07-26A bare-chested man with short dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead sits in front of ornate gold ritual objects, holding a small white paper slip to his face with his right hand while his left hand is raised in folded-hand gesture. A red thread is tied on his wrist and he wears a rudraksha mala and a red-cord necklace. Behind him a woman in a pale green and white sari stands, another woman's face is partly visible at left, and a deep red curtain forms the backdrop. The gold items include a serpent-shaped golden ornament. Nothing in the frame clearly shows a crown, saffron robe or ceremonial gold necklace, so the man is described only as a devotee in a ritual setting.2017-08-20December 21 20162016-12-21December 02 20102010-12-02September 04 20112011-09-04 +1 copiesClose candid photograph of a crowd at an event.
