Close-up photograph of bare feet standing on two small brass pedestals with spiked tops, each holding a yellow fruit or lemon beneath the soles. A figure wears a saffron and maroon garment with a red and orange-gold cloth and red beaded garland above the feet. Behind is a tiger-striped cloth draped over an ornate gold-embossed seat, with a red velvet cushion and an orange draped table below. The pedestals with fruit suggest a ritual foot-placing or padapuja. No face is visible and no identity can be confirmed from the feet.2016-03-02 +1 copiesOctober 04 20122012-10-04August 14 20172017-08-14Close-up photo of bare feet in a rust-orange garment resting on two small brass lamps with yellow spheres, placed on a stone floor in front of a red velvet and silver-ornate seat. A silver elephant-shaped base and a silver pole are visible. Only legs and feet of one person are visible, so the person cannot be identified from this view. Brass oil lamps appear on the floor beside the seat.2017-01-09March 02 20132013-03-02August 02 20172017-08-02September 15 20122012-09-15Close-up photograph of a bare foot standing on a pair of ornate metal sandals with spiked soles, set on a wooden block on a dirt floor. The wearer's legs are draped in an orange-saffron cloth with gold border trim. Beside the feet lie yellow fruit, a long metal rod, an orange flower, scattered green leaves and a dark wooden plank. The setting suggests a ritual or ascetic practice, but no face or full figure is visible, so the person cannot be identified and no ritual name is clear.2013-03-02August 14 20172017-08-14Close photograph of a bare foot in an orange-brown dhoti or robe with gold-bordered hem, resting on two ornate brass padukas or footwear stands with a kalasha-like finial, with yellow flower petals or fruit on the stand and a silver elephant-shaped throne base in the background. The person's face is not visible; the foot is shown in the act of being washed or honoured with pooja items.2017-01-09Close photo of a seated person's bare feet pressing down onto two small metal sandal-like stands with spiked bristles and yellow lemons placed beneath them, a ritual gesture of stepping on spiked objects. The person wears a brown garment with gold border and a red flower garland hangs at the side. Behind is an ornate gold-carved throne or chair with a zebra-striped cloth draped over it, and a red carpeted platform below. Only feet and limbs are visible, so no face-based identity is possible.2016-03-02Close photo of bare feet resting on a pair of ornate bronze padukas, the sandal-shaped footwear of a guru, placed on a draped brown-orange velvet cloth. Each paduka has a small finial and a carved, spiked base, and a lime-green fruit sits beside each foot. The person's legs are visible from the knees down wearing a brown garment with gold border trim, and a maroon drape hangs in the background. This suggests a padapuja, the ritual washing and worship of a guru's feet, though no full ceremony is visible. No faces are shown, and the scene is dimly lit.2016-12-23
