A procession moves through a marble-floored hall with an arched opening behind it, where colourful umbrellas or canopies are visible outside. At front, a man in white shirt and trousers gestures forward with an open hand. Behind him, a man in white holds a tall gold-wrapped staff or pole. On the right, a man in a saffron-orange robe and orange turban wears a white and multicoloured garland and rudraksha beads, smiling as he walks. Women in orange and white saris line the left side of the hall, and other men in white shirts and dhotis follow.2007-02-06A person in saffron-orange robes with a gold-bordered shawl and an orange turban walks down a central aisle in a dim auditorium with rows of dark red seats. Many people line both sides of the aisle, most standing with palms pressed together in namaste; some wear white or light blue striped shirts and glasses, and one holds a printed booklet. The walker, with palms joined, appears to be a sannyasi receiving greetings; identity uncertain from appearance alone.2005-11-10 +1 copiesOctober 08 20062006-10-08A photograph taken at an open-sided ashram entrance under a corrugated metal roof, with palm trees and a white latticed screen on the right. A tall man with long swept-back dark hair, bare-armed, wears a saffron-orange wrap and a long rudraksha mala, walking barefoot across a green mat toward the viewer. Beside him a shaved-headed monk in orange robes holds a folded white paper. Behind them a line of women in white and cream saris and salwar-kameez stands with palms pressed together in anjali, one small girl in a turquoise outfit among them. Further back, other white-clad devotees and orange-robed attendants move about a courtyard with stone statues and a red-and-yellow poster of deities on a wall.
