Smaller garlanded deity figures stand on pedestals behind, and a decorative umbrella with floral embroidery is at left.March 27 20162016-03-27Photo of a temple shrine lit at night with many deity murtis draped in marigold and flower garlands, a gold kalasha-style canopy in the centre and a black stone murti on the right. A figure in an orange-saffron robe stands at the altar making an offering, and a woman in a white sari with a red border stands at the left beside a peacock-feather fan. Several seated devotees in the foreground, including a woman in a red sari and a woman in green, kneel on the carpet facing the altar. Fruit offerings and oil lamps sit on the altar table.2008-05-04Inside a temple shrine, two richly decorated deity murtis sit on a red-draped platform under a multicoloured fringed canopy, both heavily garlanded with yellow and red flowers and wearing gold crowns and ornaments. A standing woman with long blonde hair, wearing a white and gold-bordered sari, stands barefoot on a striped rug and offers or performs puja near the figures. Nearby, a man in a rust-coloured garment and a woman in grey and white stand among brass lamps, a silver bowl and scattered flower petals. No identifiable person in saffron or with clear presenter cues is seen; the scene is a puja in progress.2016-03-27A man in a white shirt and white trousers stands at left with palms pressed together, offering reverence to a pair of decorated deity murti seated on a green and gold draped platform. The murti wear gold crowns, ornate jewellery and red-and-white flower garlands with yellow marigolds, and one is dressed in a green sari-like cloth with red border while the other wears a red and orange cloth. Behind them stand white-clad devotees, a robed priest in orange, and a gilded throne with ornate carvings in a hall with maroon drapes. The scene reads as a wedding-style darshan at a Meenakshi Tirukalyanam celebration.2015-04-30
