February 08 20102010-02-08Outdoor photo beneath a huge old banyan tree with thick aerial roots and sprawling limbs. A group of about a dozen devotees in white clothes stands on bare dirt near the trunk, many wearing flower garlands. Two women in front wear white dresses, one with long blonde hair and a blue shawl over her shoulder, the other in cream clothing; a man in a white jacket and white trousers stands beside them, and women in white salwar-style outfits stand further back. A man in white is partly visible at the far left edge. Their posture is quiet and attentive, consistent with a welcome or sarvadarshan-type gathering. No identifiable a person figure is clearly visible.2009-12-02Outdoor photo under a large spreading tree with dense green leaves at an ashram site with sandy ground. Several men and youths walk along a path, mostly in white dhotis and white kurtas with saffron/orange shawls draped over their shoulders; one prominent man in the centre wears a white kurta with a white scarf and carries a long bamboo staff. Others carry slender bamboo poles or staves. A young person at left wears an orange garment and holds a bamboo pole. In the background a red-cloth-covered structure is visible. Some people appear in the distance under the branches. No individual is distinctively identifiable as a person from appearance cues in this frame.2006-08-17November 21 20112011-11-21December 02 20092009-12-02A photograph of a group of devotees standing outdoors on reddish-brown earth beneath a large banyan tree with aerial roots and spreading branches. Most wear white ritual clothing and flower garlands: men in long white kurtas and white trousers, women in white tunics and white trousers. Several have their hands folded in namaste or stand barefoot in a reverent line. One woman carries a black bag and another a red bag. Light filters through the leaves onto a pale stone platform at the right edge.2009-12-02Outdoor photograph on a dirt path beneath a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. A group of about 20 people in white and cream traditional clothes walks along the path. A man in the foreground wears a white dhoti-style outfit with an orange-red shawl and extends his right arm to point up toward the tree. Several women in white saris with red and yellow borders stand at left, and a man in an orange robe appears among the group. Stone steps and a low concrete curb border the path, and a shrine-like stone structure sits at the base of the tree on the right.2009-10-15September 11 20162016-09-11November 21 20112011-11-21December 02 20092009-12-02A photograph of a large banyan tree with many thick aerial roots hanging and twisting down along the trunk. In the centre, a slender hanging root cluster rises from a ring of grey granite blocks on red-brown earth. To the right, a group of people in white and pastel clothing walk barefoot across the dusty ground under the shade. Foreground figures include a woman in a white top and white trousers at right, a woman in a mint-green kurta with an orange waist sash, and a woman in a white kurta with an orange dupatta. Dappled sunlight falls across the scene and the background shows more participants and green foliage.2005-12-24Outdoor photo of a group walking along a dirt path beside a large banyan tree with aerial roots and spreading branches. In the centre a figure in a flowing orange robe with long dark hair walks barefoot, and nearby a man in white with an orange shawl over his shoulder walks barefoot on a stone. Several men in white kurta-style clothing walk in the foreground and left, some in white dhotis. A low stone-edged border lines the path. Visible people: about seven.2009-10-15
