December 05 20112011-12-05A nighttime procession with devotees in orange and saffron clothing carrying colourful umbrellas with tasselled fringes and red banners. At the centre, a large cutout or standee of a man with a saffron turban and red and white flower garland is carried aloft, wearing gold-toned ornaments and an orange garment; it is a printed image, not a physical person. Around it, a bearded man on the left holds a decorated container with pink offerings and wears a rudraksha mala, a drummer and devotees with folded hands and tilaka follow, and a person on the right plays a brass instrument. The scene is a ratha-style or street procession with flags and parasols.2018-12-31 +1 copiesDecember 20 20062006-12-20December 12 20162016-12-12 +1 copiesFebruary 17 20162016-02-17Night outdoor ceremony with many devotees in white dhotis and red shawls, hands folded in anjali. A woman in an orange-red robe with a long dark braid and a patterned shawl carries a brass vessel in both hands at the center. Beside her a bald man in a white dhoti and white shirt with a red shawl walks, and a young boy in orange robes holds a trident-topped staff. Women in white saris and a woman in pink stand at the left with torches and staffs, and a man in white holds a flaming trident at the right edge. The scene suggests a ritual torch procession, with the saffron-clad participants and flaming tridents giving a religious feel.2010-11-19Night procession at an outdoor temple event beneath large red, yellow and green ornate parasols edged with sequins, with a yellow and red banner behind.
