A man in saffron-orange robes stands in the water at the front, and several men in white dhotis and white shirts, one in green, stand in the water around the float. Behind them a fountain plays under a tall arch and strings of coloured lights line the poolside steps, where a crowd in white clothing is seated.2010-12-30Night photograph of a floating ceremonial raft on a pool in front of a tiered stone bathing structure with a fountain. The raft is decorated with gold-coloured ornamental canopy and carved panels, white jasmine garlands and purple-and-yellow flower garlands. Seated on a red-cushioned throne in the centre is a figure in saffron-orange robes, adorned with a rudraksha-style necklace and raising one hand in blessing; this figure is visually compatible with a swami presentation, but the appearance is uncertain. A standing figure in orange robes with a garland stands on the left of the raft, and several men in white dhotis and orange or white clothing stand in the water around the raft. A shrine-like lingam structure with fountain water rises behind, with strings of coloured lights along the rails and spectators seated on the steps in the background.2010-12-30December 30 20102010-12-30December 30 20102010-12-30Night photograph of a golden floating palanquin-style platform on a dark water tank, decorated with purple and white flower garlands and a multicoloured canopy. A seated figure in orange robes, with long dark hair, sits on a red-cushioned gold throne raising one hand in blessing, barefoot on a woven mat. A standing golden-robed deity murti stands beside the throne, also garlanded, with a mala-like necklace. Priests in white dhotis and saffron cloths stand at the platform edges, and a fountain plays behind the tank under string lights. Several people are visible around the platform, with a seated devotee on the left and additional attendants on the right, and the temple-tank setting suggests a float or theppam-style procession.2010-12-30December 30 20102010-12-30December 30 20102010-12-30December 30 20102010-12-30
