Four people in white clothes stand at the base of the pole on a low concrete platform, two adults with their hands on the pole and two younger figures standing nearby. In the right foreground, a large ornate red and gold canopy or umbrella-like structure, decorated with green and turquoise sequined flowers and a silver bird emblem on navy blue, fills much of the frame. A grey boulder and palm trees sit to the left on a dusty ground.
