A large old banyan tree with many aerial prop roots dominates the scene, its trunk and hanging roots forming a dense cluster. The ground around it is excavated, showing reddish-brown earth trenches, cut stone slabs and rough rubble in the foreground, and a low concrete platform near the base. A dark opening is visible among the roots at the trunk's base. No people are visible.
