Photograph taken inside a temple hall with carved wooden ceiling brackets and a tall gold-plated pillar behind the group. A smiling young man with long, swept-back dark hair and a white-and-red tilak on his forehead wears an orange saffron wrap and a thick garland of white jasmine, red flowers and green leaves, with a gold chain around his neck; he is probable Swamiji by the long hair, saffron clothing and garland cues, shown in person. Beside him an older bare-chested priest with a grey beard wears multiple silver and beaded necklaces, a green pendant, a sacred thread and a red-and-white dhoti. Several men stand around them, one with a white-marked forehead and red bindi, another in a white shirt, and a man on the right with a red tilak and beaded necklaces. A small illuminated sign with Tamil text hangs on the pillar wall, and a golden shrine niche glows in the background.2005-12-25Photo inside a stone temple interior with carved ornate ceilings and brackets, a tall gold-plated flagstaff (dhwajasthambha) and a small gold shrine canopy behind it, lit by fluorescent tubes. Around him, bare-chested men wear white dhotis, one with a yellow waist cloth and others with orange or red wraps, and rudraksha or bead malas. A man in a white shirt sits atop an elephant at the upper right edge.
