A fire burns in a brass vessel on a striped mat, with stacked wooden fuel and a kalasha-like offering tray decorated with orange fruit, marigold petals and flowers. Several priests in saffron/orange robes with rudraksha malas and forehead markings sit near the fire; one tends the flame. A young boy in white dhoti stands barefoot at the right with hands folded. Behind, a seated row of people in white ritual clothes watches; a few women in white saris sit by the wall. A potted plant and a stone pillar frame the scene.
