In the foreground, a woman in a purple and lavender sari bends forward, reaching toward a brass plate of offerings while a man in an orange robe and orange head wrap, with rudraksha mala and a gold pendant, sits cross-legged and holds a ritual item over the fire area. Around them lie trays of pink flowers, coconut halves, leaves, a brass bowl, and a flower garland hanging on the left. Behind them, several men in white shirts and dhotis and striped shirts sit and watch on a tiled floor, with a microphone on a stand at left.A photograph of a ritual scene in which a woman in a green blouse and green-and-gold striped sari leans forward to tie a yellow-orange thread on the wrist of a seated man in saffron robes. The man has long dark hair, a red tilak mark on his forehead, a gold necklace and a rudraksha-style mala, and is smiling. Brass plates holding yellow turmeric or kumkum paste and orange offerings sit on the floor in front, and another saffron-robed figure is partly visible at right. The setting appears to be a temple interior with grey stone walls. Appearance-based cues for a person are present (long swept hair, saffron cloth, gold chain), so this is a person appearance.2006-09-29June 19 20032003-06-19June 19 20032003-06-19A seated man in saffron robes with long swept-back dark hair, rudraksha mala beads and a vibhuti mark on his forehead performs a puja at a low wooden stand. He offers flowers or grains to a brass-and-wood deity murti dressed in a green and gold cloth with a garland of white beads. A woman kneeling in a peach sari and orange shawl holds her hands out toward the murti, and a younger man in orange sits beside them. Behind them, devotees in white and orange stand and watch on a marble floor, with a brass kalasha and a tiger-striped cushion nearby. The scene reads as a Hindu puja or abhishekam at an ashram.2008-07-03Photo inside a small pink-walled room during a pada puja at a devotee's house. A seated figure with long dark hair, a white flower and red rose garland, orange robes with gold border, and gold earrings sits on a raised seat, smiling, with feet being honoured. A bald man in orange robes and rudraksha beads sits behind, and a man in a white shirt and dhoti holds a lit oil lamp beside a woman in orange and red sari with folded hands. Flower petals lie on a red cloth.
