December 14 20132013-12-14December 14 20132013-12-14A photograph of a stone temple courtyard in Bali with weathered carved guardian statues in front of a latticed stone wall. Four stone figures stand on a low stone base, one wearing a grey sarong, another a red sash. Two tall umbrellas frame the scene, one white with fringe and one yellow-orange. Several visitors stand on a raised stone platform behind: a woman in a red top and yellow belt, a woman in a white striped shirt and a person in a wide-brimmed straw hat, all gesturing toward the statues. A child and a person at the lower left edge are partly visible. Carved stone walls and foliage surround the area.2013-12-07December 07 20132013-12-07Outdoor photograph of three women seated cross-legged on the bare earth of a garden courtyard, facing small fire pits with scattered ash and charcoal. The woman on the left wears a yellow shawl over white; the two on the right wear white saris with orange-saffron borders and orange shawls. Behind them stand large grey stone statues of deities, including a seated multi-armed deity holding weapons and a tall standing figure, plus cobra-hood stone sculptures. Red signboards at the front read in English about a homa or yagna being performed. Green plants and palm trees frame the scene.2010-09-17 +1 copiesA photograph of an abhishekam at a temple shrine at night. A priest in orange ochre robes and long hair pours water over a black stone lingam on a base, while the water flows from a bronze kalasha. Behind is a pair of metal deity murtis in silver and gold crowns, wearing red and green garments and garlands of yellow and red flowers. A second man in orange robes bends at the lower right beside a brass pot, and another figure in pale clothes stands at the left holding a silver vessel. Carved grey stone pillars frame the scene, and a brass oil lamp stands at the right.2007-02-16A small rocky island in a calm pond with two orange-painted stone figures of kneeling or seated attendant figures with raised arms, set among grey boulders, grass and granite posts. Trees and palms line the far bank, with a low stone wall along the water. No people are visible in the scene; a white egret stands at the water's edge. The figures are sculptural statues, not people.2010-02-04February 17 20082008-02-17Photograph of an ornate Balinese temple gate in orange brick and grey stone, with a tiered multi-spired roof, carved stone guardian figures flanking a golden-carved wooden door, and small stone shrines on either side. Frangipani trees and a red-flowering tree frame the courtyard under a cloudy sky. No people are visible.2013-12-11January 17 20082008-01-17December 17 20132013-12-17 +1 copiesFebruary 16 20072007-02-16
