September 25 20132013-09-25September 25 20132013-09-25Outdoors on bare dry ground, about ten children sit cross-legged in two loose rows beside terracotta pots of small green plants. They wear saffron-orange robes and rudraksha malas, with white horizontal tilak marks on their foreheads. Several have their hands resting on the pots or the plants, and their eyes are closed or lowered as if in focused meditation. Behind them lie shallow dug pits in the soil, a brick wall, and green shrubs.2022-05-06May 06 20222022-05-06Photograph of a group of young students in red and orange robes seated on the ground, arranging yellow and red flower petals and marigolds on banana leaves laid over woven mats. A girl in the foreground wears a red garment with gold border, a white tilak on her forehead, earrings and a blue hair clip, and places flowers into a circular pattern. Rows of similarly dressed children continue behind her, some in orange and others in red, all focused on the flower arrangements. The scene resembles a flower-offering preparation for a puja or padapuja.2013-12-22A young boy sits cross-legged on a woven mat in a thatched hut with a bamboo-slat wall. He wears a dark short-sleeved shirt with small red and white patterns, dark trousers, a black rudraksha-style bead necklace, a red bindi on his forehead and gold bangles. He is threading or arranging yellow flowers held in both hands, looking down at them. Slippers rest on the floor beside him and a cardboard box is visible behind him. The scene is quiet and everyday, with no visible deity, fire or ritual setup.2010-12-09May 06 20222022-05-06A barefoot man in a white dhoti with a gold border and an orange-red shawl bends over a dirt path lined with rows of small red bricks, using a flat metal tool to smooth or clear the soil. Tall palm trees frame the scene on the left, with tall black water tanks behind them. In the background, several people in white clothes stand and walk along a paved road beside parked motorbikes, and a girl in a dark dress with a pale shawl stands near the tanks. Hazy sunlight lights the dusty ground.2017-02-05Six young boys sit on the ground on banana leaves arranging flowers for a ritual. Two in white dhotis with bare chests and gold-bordered cloth wear rudraksha malas and forehead markings, and one in a white dhoti and shawl presses petals into his palms. Those in saffron and orange robes and red robes with gold borders wear rudraksha malas and tilak marks, and a bowl of red and orange petals and piles of yellow and red marigolds lie before them on leaves on a pale stone floor.2013-12-22Outdoor photo of a group of young boys in saffron-orange robes sitting cross-legged on orange cloth mats in a courtyard. Each boy has white markings on the forehead and arms and sits before a banana leaf heaped with yellow and red flower petals, which they sort and pick over with their hands. Palm trees, a corrugated roof and a red wall stand behind them under bright sunlight. The scene suggests a flower-offering ritual, though no deity or altar is visible.2013-12-22A photograph of an outdoor ashram grounds lined with tall palm trees and a row of brick edging. An elderly person in white dhoti with gold border and an orange-red shawl bends forward, sweeping dusty soil with a flat metal tray or dustpan. Behind, several people in white clothes stand near a road and a parked motorcycle, and two women in dark saree-style clothing are visible beside water storage tanks. Hazy morning light.2017-02-05December 22 20132013-12-22
