A close photograph of a large round stainless steel vessel filled with cooked white rice, the grains fluffy and loosely mounded. Behind it on a steel tray sits a small steel cup and a folded brown cloth. A blurred figure in white clothing stands at the right edge, partly cut off. The floor is red-brown and the light falls from the left, leaving the top of the rice in shadow.

Three large aluminium cooking pots sit on a red-tiled floor in a kitchen, filled with cooked food for annadan. The left and centre pots hold pale, fluffy rice-like grain; the right pot holds a yellow-tinged mixture with dark specks. A long steel ladle rests in the centre pot. Behind them are a blue plastic stool, a steel lid, small packets, a plastic bag, and a framed picture of a smiling woman. No people are visible.

A large white lingam covered with white flower garlands and a yellow flower on top stands on a white-draped platform in an outdoor courtyard. Rows of many small black lingams fill the foreground. Behind them sit an orange-roofed building, a shipping container, a hill covered with trees and a clear sky. A few distant people in white are visible near the edges.

A close photograph of a steel bowl heaped with cooked white rice flecked with green herbs and mustard seeds, with a dark whole spice on top. Behind it sits a polished brass vessel with a decorative rim, a small bowl of yellow powder, and green banana or plantain leaves on a green cloth. No people are visible.

Outdoor photo beneath a forested hill. A man in saffron-orange robes with a bare upper body, shaved head, and a beaded necklace pours water over a large white abhishekam lingam set in a dark stone basin. Rows of black stone shivalingas stand on the ground in front of him, with a red shipping container and an orange-roofed building behind. The lingam is covered with white material, possibly sacred ash or rice flour.

Close photo of a large dark metal cooking vessel filled with cooked white rice in a kitchen. A person's hand, with a light blue plaid cloth at the wrist, rests on the rim of the pot as if stirring or handling the rice. A white cloth hangs at the left edge. Only a hand and arm are visible; no face or full body appears. The scene suggests large-scale community food preparation.
