A man with long, swept-back curly dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead pours water from a brass vessel over a dark stone shivalinga during an abhishekam. He wears an orange sleeveless top with an orange shawl draped over his shoulders and a gold bead necklace of large round beads. Water splashes over the stone linga. To the left, a bearded man in orange robes stands partly visible, and another orange-clad figure appears at the right edge. Two more men in orange robes stand behind and beside him, one tending the linga. Water streams down the linga and pools on the base, and a lamp glints in the background. Dim light and a warm orange palette dominate the scene.2010-02-12A man with long dark hair and an orange saffron wrap draped over his shoulders and bare arm wears a long gold bead necklace and a red tilak on his forehead. He pours a yellow liquid from a copper vessel onto a golden deity murti seated on a pedestal. He wears a gold necklace and gold armband, with gold ornamental pieces at his shoulder. Behind him a second person in white ritual clothes stands partly visible. On the stage, brass ritual implements and a tridentlike staff rest beside garlanded flowers, and a large orange-toned backdrop shows a figure in saffron. The man appears to match the a person description in appearance (long hair, gold ornaments, red wrap), so this is a probable in-person candidate. He wears a long gold-bead necklace, a red tilak on his forehead and long swept-back dark hair; his upper arms show white paste. Behind him a woman in orange clothing holds a camera, and seated devotees in white and orange fill the background hall, with a red cloth and offerings at the base of the murti. The appearance of the central figure with long hair, gold necklace and saffron robe is a probable match for a person, performing abhishekam on a Shiva-form murti.2007-11-09January 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copies
