Five men stand barefoot on striped mats with palms pressed together in anjali mudra. Most wear white dhotis and kurta-style shirts with red-orange shawls draped over their shoulders; the man on the far right, eyes closed with a red tilak on his forehead, wears white and gold bangles. Between them, a young woman in a yellow t-shirt and black trousers, also with a red shawl, stands with hands folded. Brass trays with offerings, small oil lamps and flowers lie on the floor in front, and black bags sit beside the mats. Additional devotees in white and red appear behind.2012-09-03Interior of a temple hall with white pillars wrapped in striped blue, red and yellow fabric decorated with flowers and bird motifs. Green leaf garlands hang over a shrine niche where a small red deity murti sits lit by oil lamps. Four people stand in white clothing facing the shrine: a young man in a long white kurta at left, a man in orange robes in the centre-left, a man in white with a yellow shawl, and a person in white dhoti and kurta at right beside a dark stone statue of a woman in a yellow sari. A chalkboard with Telugu writing stands at the left edge.A photograph inside a plain whitewashed hall with a corrugated roof, showing a puja before a white marble murti of a seated figure draped in garlands of white flowers and red blooms, set on a saffron-draped table. In the centre, a man with long, swept-back dark hair wears a sleeveless saffron-orange robe and places a red flower on the murti's head with his right hand. At right, a bald priest in a white dhoti and shawl with maroon borders holds a lit camphor flame on a silver plate for aarti. At left, a bald man in saffron robes stands beside a devotee in white dhoti and shirt with hands folded in prayer. Behind them, further devotees in white stand near a small altar, a tall ceremonial umbrella and a brass plate on the wall.2010-09-13December 08 20092009-12-08A photograph of three men standing in a white stone temple pavilion with carved pillars and a dark polished floor. On the right, a man with long dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead wears a bright saffron-yellow robe and places his right hand on his chest. On the left, a man in an orange robe stands with arms folded. In the centre, a man in a white dhoti and white shirt with a red shawl holds a small notepad. Behind them, striped red, blue and yellow decorative pillars frame a shrine with a deity murti and green foliage. The right-hand man's ascetic presentation (long hair, tilak, saffron robe) is a cue for a possible identification, but the image is not decisive, so he is described by role only.2010-02-04A photograph inside a white marble temple shrine at Mysore. A standing figure in an orange robe and matching orange head wrap stands with palms pressed together in namaste before a carved doorway labelled "DATTA" beside a gilded deity murti. Red cloth drapes hang on the left. On the right, a person in a yellow shawl and white dhoti, with a shaved head, stands with hands folded, and an older woman in a pink sari stands behind. Gold-tipped white pillars and a patterned marble floor frame the scene.2008-10-29A photograph inside a home room with cream walls, a brown patterned curtain at left and a brown wooden door at right. Three people are visible. At left, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands with hands pressed together in prayer. In the centre, a person in an orange sleeveless top and orange cloth, with long dark hair and a white flower garland, bends toward a small brass shrine with a lit oil lamp. At right, a person with long dark hair wears an orange shawl over white clothing and stands with head bowed. On the floor near the shrine sits a brass plate with offerings.2010-02-17A photograph taken at a temple doorway with tall wooden doors swung open. In the foreground a man with long dark hair and a white forehead mark wears a flowing saffron-orange robe over red lower cloth and walks barefoot out of the shrine. Behind him, two men in white clothes with orange shawls stand near the entrance, and one more man in white is partly visible at the left edge. Inside the shrine, gilded deity figures are adorned with red and white flower garlands, a golden crown and a trident, flanked by gold lion-like carvings beneath green leaf festoons and red drapes. The floor is bare grey concrete. The orange-robed man is an appearance-based a person candidate; the page does not place him at this event, so the identity is uncertain.2009-01-20A seated figure in an orange saffron robe and rudraksha mala sits on a white draped chair before a shrine with a golden-framed deity murti, flanked by a gilded lamp stand and offerings. The seated figure has long swept-back hair and a crown-like ornamentation is not visible; the person is shown in orange clothing with a rudraksha mala, extending a hand toward a devotee. A kneeling man in white with an orange shawl bows with folded hands at their feet, and a garland of flowers rests on a footstool. Around them, men in white dhotis and orange shawls stand and watch, one in an orange robe with a yellow shawl, and a bald man in white with orange shawl stands at right. Orange and red mats cover the floor and orange drapes frame the open pavilion.2010-06-13
