Photograph of a ritual puja in a hall before a decorated shrine with a central deity murti draped in red and white flower garlands, flanked by two gilded arched canopies with umbrella tops holding goddess and deity figures. Four men sit on the floor in front of the altar: one in white dhoti and shawl at left, a bare-chested priest in orange-yellow cloth at centre facing the shrine, a man in white at lower right, and a bare-chested man in turquoise cloth at right. Brass oil lamps, silver trays, bowls and a basket of red flowers stand before them, with triangular orange banners framing the altar. A small flame burns at left.2015-07-16May 25 20132013-05-25 +1 copiesA temple-style ceremony before a gilded arched backdrop and a red draped platform. Central deity murti, gold-crowned with a silver-and-gold body and jewelled necklaces, is seated with garlands of yellow marigold and red flowers. Two priests stand on silver pedestals: the left priest in white dhoti with a gold-and-purple cloth on his shoulder and a gold turban is draping a striped silk cloth over the deity; the right priest in white dhoti with a yellow-orange shawl and green turban holds a cloth and wears a marigold garland. In front, three decorated kalasha pots garlanded with marigolds and red flowers sit beside a fire pit with a bright flame, with oil lamps on either side.2015-07-13July 17 20152015-07-17September 16 20132013-09-16July 18 20132013-07-18A photograph of a temple shrine with a golden-framed arch behind a seated pair of deity murtis draped in orange and red cloth with garlands of marigolds and green leaves. The figures on the throne wear crowns and jewelled necklaces. In the foreground, a man in white dhoti and shawl holds a silver tray. Beside the deities stands a figure in orange robe and rudraksha mala with long hair and forehead marks, holding a garland; he is a sannyasi-style devotee and his appearance is not clearly identifiable, so no identification is made. The shrine is roofed with stone and red curtains hang at the side.2010-12-28A seated priest in white dhoti and shawl, bare-chested with rudraksha beads, sits with palms pressed together before a shrine. Behind him stands a large golden-framed altar with a pair of carved deity murtis in red, orange and green draped garments, adorned with garlands, jewelry and crowns. Their hands hold ritual objects. At right, a smaller statue of a standing saint in saffron robes with a rudraksha mala and a raised, folded-hand gesture is placed on a yellow cushion within a gold arch. Brass oil lamps, bowls and a kalasha-style vessel sit on the floor before the altar.2013-05-03December 13 20112011-12-13November 09 20072007-11-09July 13 20152015-07-13Two shirtless men stand before a round blue-draped table holding a kolam-like mandala of yellow powder, marigold-like garlands and a brass pot, in a tent setting with brass oil lamps and seated devotees behind them. The man on the right, with a pink-and-gold turban and rudraksha mala, presses his palms together in prayer, while the man on the left wears a pink shawl and gold chain and stands with hands clasped. A videographer on a tripod is visible at the upper left. The scene shows a ritual at a mandala table, possibly part of a homa or samaya deeksha process.2015-07-17 +1 copies
