Outdoor procession at a river crowd. A central man in an orange-red shawl and maroon garment, with long hair, rudraksha mala and a large ceremonial gold-bead necklace, raises one arm while holding a silver trident-topped staff under a multicoloured red, yellow and green umbrella with tassels. Men flanking him wear maroon cloths and gold necklaces, one with white ash marks on his bald head and chest. Orange saffron flags and a tall decorated pole rise behind a dense crowd in the dusk light, with streetlamps overhead.2013-02-10A crowded temple scene where devotees push forward, with a bare-chested man in a blue dhoti and green-gold border raising one arm high. Beside him, a man in an orange turban and red-orange shawl stands with an arm extended toward the crowd, wearing rudraksha bracelets. Other men in saffron and orange garments, some with rudraksha malas, surround them. Behind, young men in shirts stand near a wire mesh and red pillars. The setting appears to be a temple hall with a red-painted wall. The scene reads as devotional, with people reaching out in a crowd.2015-05-01Photograph of a group of shaved-headed men in saffron-orange dhotis and wraps, many bare-chested and wearing rudraksha malas, gathered closely in an outdoor setting with green foliage behind. In the centre, a smiling man with a shaved head holds a dark beaded mala and wears a red-brown wrist band, while a man in front in an orange dhoti points with his finger. Other devotees with bare shoulders crowd around, some wearing white dhotis with gold borders. No figure with distinctive a person cues such as long hair, crown or ornate gold regalia is clearly visible, so the identity of any person remains unconfirmed.2017-01-14A photograph of a group of shaved-headed men in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha malas standing with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, appearing to be in prayer or devotional gathering. Several wear hoop earrings and red-and-orange beaded wrist bands; one man in the centre has a red tilak on his forehead and another wears turquoise-framed glasses. Behind them is a red-tiled wall, and in the lower foreground the backs of several heads of onlookers are visible.2015-11-16February 10 20132013-02-10January 12 20172017-01-12January 12 20172017-01-12Outdoor procession on a dusty road with trees and buildings behind. On the left, a yellow and green ceremonial umbrella with tassels is carried on a long pole by a bare-chested attendant in a white dhoti. In the centre, a bald priest in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha beads kneels to touch the ground near a blue and gold ceremonial tray. Beside him, a white-clad attendant in a white shirt looks on. On the right, a figure with long dark hair in a bun, a red floral headband, ornate gold earrings and a multi-strand rudraksha mala, wearing an orange shawl and bangles, stands facing the kneeling priest. Uniformed police officers stand in the background among white-clad devotees.2012-05-18A photograph of a street procession in a crowd. In the centre, a man in a red-maroon turban and a red-brown robe with a golden-yellow sash wears a long golden-bead necklace, a large rudraksha mala and a golden pendant. Around him, shaven-headed sadhus in orange and red robes with beaded necklaces and gold bangles press close, while a bearded man in sunglasses and orange shirt and a blonde woman in orange stand nearby. Red flags, silver staffs and tridents rise behind, a golden palanquin is partly visible at left, and uniformed police stand at the back. Visible people number roughly 20 to 30, all standing or walking.2016-04-18Outdoor procession scene with several men in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl clothing, many bare-chested with rudraksha mala necklaces and white sacred markings on their bodies. A smiling shaved-headed man in the centre-left wears an orange shawl draped over one shoulder and a dark rudraksha mala; he appears to be a sannyasi or devotee and his appearance is not a reliable cue for a person. Nearby, a man in an orange shawl with a long braided hair and a gold chain stands beside a truck, and a boy in a pink kurta reaches toward the group. Umbrella-like canopies with purple and gold fabric rise in the background, alongside people in white clothes on the left.2017-01-11Outdoor procession with a crowd walking past a whitewashed wall painted in red and blue stripes. Two large ornate parasols with green, yellow and red panels and fringed tassels are held over the centre. Men in saffron robes with beaded garlands and gold pendants walk alongside him, and many devotees in white dhotis and shirts fill the background.2012-05-18July 19 20162016-07-19
