Behind him sits a second man in white, and a bouquet of pink roses, red flowers and white calla lilies sits at the murti's base. Garlands hang in the background, and a small oil lamp burns on the left side of the murti. Setting: a temple shrine with white walls and a gold-coloured metal railing.2008-10-23A woman with long curly dark hair, wearing an orange-red sari with gold border and gold bangles, sits cross-legged lighting a many-tiered brass lamp stand filled with burning oil lamps. She holds a small lamp in one hand and a matchbox rests nearby. A woman in a red sari with a red blouse sits cross-legged on an orange mat, her palms pressed together in prayer, eyes closed. Across from her, a person with short dark hair in white ritual clothing with an orange-edged shawl sits on a gold-carved throne, raising one arm toward her. Before the throne stand a heap of pink and white flowers and a metal plate of sweets. A tall brass lamp stands nearby, and a draped altar with purple and green cloth is visible at right.2008-10-23Two women kneel on a dark granite floor in a temple shrine performing a lamp ritual. The woman on the right wears a red blouse with gold border and a red sari, holding out her hand toward a tall brass multi-wick oil lamp with lit flames. The woman on the left, in a cream sari with red blouse and a rudraksha-style bead strand, reaches toward the same lamp. Brass ritual implements, a brass bell, a bowl with a pink flower and a trident-like brass object sit in the foreground, with a garlanded deity murti and a wooden table behind them.2008-10-16October 15 20082008-10-15June 05 20122012-06-05 +1 copies
